What’s to love in the Swan Valley?
Visit awesome animal parks! Get up close with animals. Pet a kangaroo, cuddle a koala or snuggle with a snake. Plan a visit to the West Australian Reptile Park or Caversham Wildlife Park. Alternatively, experience a taste of the farm with Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. Milk a goat, feed a lamb, and cuddle with guinea pigs and rabbits.
Find a family-friendly restaurant or winery. Stop for lunch where the kids can play and you can relax and enjoy your meal. Likewise, discover delicious ice cream, chocolate or nougat with the kids.
On the other hand, why not enjoy a round of Supa Golf, the Motor Museum of Western Australia or take a ride on the Bennett Brook Railway? Make some precious memories and spend some quality time with the family.

The Village East Playground at Whiteman Park has undergone a complete reconstruction with all new play equipment and shade sails. The new equipment is easy for toddlers to navigate and adventurous enough to keep older kids entertained! Flindell Park is the latest playground and park area to be added to Taylor estate in Caversham. This quiet little park won’t be quiet for too much longer! St Leonards Park is a fantastic playground for kids of all ages located in the St Leonards Estate in the Swan Valley. The playground consists of two separate areas catering for both toddlers and older children. Whiteman Park Dog Park is a little known secret among the dog community The fully fenced and grassed 2.5-hectare playground has a doggie obstacle course and plenty of natural shade from mature trees. There’s even a separate enclosure for smaller dog breeds. There’s a 500m walkway around the circumference of the park so you can exercise yourself as well as your friend. Rushmore Green Toddler Playground in Bushmead is a brand new play area for small children. It’s a great spot for your small ones who aren’t quite large enough for the well-known Giant Park, which is located on the same road. Vale Adventure Park is Aveley’s newest playground, located on Egerton Drive it is walking distance to the local IGA and cafes, including a favourite of mine Mecca Gourmet. As we arrived my oldest children ran straight to the dual flying fox, they were all smiles racing each other to the end. The Rainbow Waters Playground is located opposite the library in Ellenbrook. It is an award-winning free to use water park and was one of the first water parks in Perth to use the splash pad surface. The water park incorporates ‘innovative, environmental and sustainable elements, while also providing an attractive and creative playspace’. The water park is closed in the cooler months and re-opens September until May daily from 9.00am – 7.00pm. If you haven’t heard about the amazing Jungle Park near Whiteman Park, you’d have had to be living under a rock. Little Chef and I were heading there for a play, after lunch in the Swan Valley. On our way, we stumbled on a brand new spot that we’d never heard about – Flamewood Park Playground in Brabham. Flamewood Park is a small, but brilliant playground that is mainly focused on climbing equipment. Tucked away in The Vines is Emms Green which is home to a quirky little playground. The playground has a focus on imaginative play. There is a large cubby house which contains a set of whisper poles at each end for secret chats. There are wooden planks to run through. And wooden poles to climb. Hesperia Park in Ellenbrook is a fantastic new playground that features a big slide and 7 meter high lookout tower! As well as the playground, the park has plenty of grass with a big kick about area, shady spots, an exercise zone, nature play and lots of footpaths, perfect for a scoot. Have you checked out Ellenbrook Skate Park? If you have children that love to skate, next time you’re in the area be sure to throw the skateboards and scooters in your car. Livvi’s Place Playground in Whiteman Edge in Brabham is a unique $1.5 million all-inclusive playground which is a result of a partnership between Stockland and the Touched By Olivia Foundation. The playground is the first Livvi’s Place in Western Australia and has been created through the collaboration and creativity of hundreds of local school children. Augustus Park located in Jane Brook is situated overlooking a beautiful lake. The main play area is mainly made up of ropes which is something different to the usual playground. Spring Reserve in Guildford has a small but action packed playground and we just love all the indigenous features. Spring Reserve is a place of significance for local Aboriginal people, having once served as a source of fresh water.
