What’s to love in the Swan Valley?
Visit awesome animal parks! Get up close with animals. Pet a kangaroo, cuddle a koala or snuggle with a snake. Plan a visit to the West Australian Reptile Park or Caversham Wildlife Park. Alternatively, experience a taste of the farm with Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. Milk a goat, feed a lamb, and cuddle with guinea pigs and rabbits.
Find a family-friendly restaurant or winery. Stop for lunch where the kids can play and you can relax and enjoy your meal. Likewise, discover delicious ice cream, chocolate or nougat with the kids.
On the other hand, why not enjoy a round of Supa Golf, the Motor Museum of Western Australia or take a ride on the Bennett Brook Railway? Make some precious memories and spend some quality time with the family.

Whiteman Parks’ newest playground is now open! Pia’s Place has been designed to allow ALL children the opportunity to play and explore in an inspirational nature-based inclusive play space. The Village East Playground at Whiteman Park has undergone a complete reconstruction with all new play equipment and shade sails. The new equipment is easy for toddlers to navigate and adventurous enough to keep older kids entertained! The colourful new playground is located within The Village at Whiteman Park, across from the Village Cafe and next to the Mini Water Playground (open seasonally). The Rainbow Waters Playground is located opposite the library in Ellenbrook. It is an award-winning free to use water park and was one of the first water parks in Perth to use the splash pad surface. The water park incorporates ‘innovative, environmental and sustainable elements, while also providing an attractive and creative playspace’. The water park is closed in the cooler months and re-opens September until May daily from 9.00am – 7.00pm. There is so much to see and do at Caversham Wildlife Park! Feed the kangaroos, see the penguins being fed, gets photos with a koala, meet a wombat, possum, python and many more at the interactive meet & greet, play with the goats, join in the Farm Show (have you ever milked a cow before?!), and so much more! The Village West Playground at Whiteman Park has undergone a complete reconstruction with all new play equipment and shade sails. It’s a perfect park for summer days with almost the entire park covered by shade. It is still fully fenced with only one open entrance near the picnic tables. There are three main play equipment areas surrounded by a soft fall walkway which is painted with train tracks and great for little ones pretending to be a train. St Leonards Park is a fantastic playground for kids of all ages located in the St Leonards Estate in the Swan Valley. The playground consists of two separate areas catering for both toddlers and older children. The main area of the playground is designed like a fort with look out points at various levels of the structure. Kids can delight in being the king of the castle! Whiteman Park Dog Park is a little known secret among the dog community The fully fenced and grassed 2.5-hectare playground has a doggie obstacle course and plenty of natural shade from mature trees. There’s even a separate enclosure for smaller dog breeds. There’s a 500m walkway around the circumference of the park so you can exercise yourself as well as your friend. Noah’s Playground opened in October 2018 in the beautiful Rosehill Waters Estate, South Guildford, the playground is inspired by the story of Noah’s Arc and is perfect for adventurous kids! The main feature is a huge wooden structure with three towers joined by suspension bridges and a tunnel slide in the middle. Livvi’s Place Playground in Whiteman Edge in Brabham is a unique $1.5 million all-inclusive playground which is a result of a partnership between Stockland and the Touched By Olivia Foundation. The playground is the first Livvi’s Place in Western Australia and has been created through the collaboration and creativity of hundreds of local school children. Located in Viveash on the Swan River, Reg Bond Reserve includes walk and cycle trails that link it to Woodbridge Riverside Park. The John George Trail is a 5.5km, with both a gravel and paved option, which gives access for walkers, bikers, wheelchairs and prams. Brabham has recently added a new park to Ariella estate, Ariella Adventure Park, and it’s absolutely delightful. The park features an awesome dragonfly play structure which consists of two rope climbing frames and one giant slide. The kids loved climbing up high at the top of the frame then walking along, before doing their best speed down the slide! It kept them entertained for ages! Vale Adventure Park is Aveley’s newest playground, located on Egerton Drive it is walking distance to the local IGA and cafes, including a favourite of mine Mecca Gourmet. As we arrived my oldest children ran straight to the dual flying fox, they were all smiles racing each other to the end. Flindell Park is the latest playground and park area to be added to Taylor estate in Caversham. This quiet little park won’t be quiet for too much longer! Today we discovered the newly opened pirate playground in Ellenbrook. It’s located on Verbana Drive near Cashman Avenue. It is fully fenced (although there are a few areas where little ones could escape in the space under the fencing), shaded and there is soft fall and well as sand within in the park. Spring Reserve in Guildford has a small but action packed playground and we just love all the indigenous features. Spring Reserve is a place of significance for local Aboriginal people, having once served as a source of fresh water. Lance Chadd, a Bibbulmun Nyoongar/Budimia Yamatji Aboriginal artist to worked on the playground which tells the ancient Nyoongar story of Koolbardi the magpie and Kaarda a huge Racehorse Goanna. William Henry Oval Caversham is situated nearby to Caversham Community Centre, and close to Suffolk Street before Colorino Avenue. The oval itself hosts a lot of community sports and also has two playgrounds that are worth a visit. The first play area is suitable for older children, ages 3 and up, depending on your child’s climbing ability. The play area is sand-based, featuring a variety of equipment for the children to use. At the new Clementine Estate, in Upper Swan, there’s a new playground to explore. It’s worth a little look, if you happen to be near the northern end of the Swan Valley. Found on Citrus Road, the small but mighty playground is decked out in vibrant citrus colours. There’s a huge lush lawn too, to run about, kick a ball and even take a roll down the hilly embankment.
