The ultimate guide to the best playgrounds and parks in Perth! Kids love burning off energy at parks and playgrounds, and Perth’s got some of the best in the world. We’ve seen many new super parks open up recently with some impressive play equipment, features and facilities. Best of all, they’re all FREE!
We’ve listed sand and no-sand parks as we know this can be an issue with some parents not wanting their kids to play in sand. We’ve added categories to filter parks with water features, enclosed fenced playgrounds, partly fenced and non-fenced. Those with open water where you can visit the ducks and enjoy some wildlife during your trip to the park. Many parks have toilets. However, some local community playgrounds don’t, which can be a deal breaker if you’re potty training your little one or want to stay longer than an hour. So we’ve listed parks with toilets available.
Lastly, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee.

- Just 5 minutes drive from Garden City Shopping Centre, atop Wireless Hill, is a beautiful is Wireless Hill Nature Playspace. We arrived in the middle of the day, and amazingly the play area is naturally shaded by the surrounding trees, even at noon. - Kalbarri Nature Playground overlooks the beautiful Murchison River on the Kalbarri Foreshore overshadowed by mature trees. The wooden play equipment is perfect for helping children with balance, coordination and confidence. The equipment features balance posts with rope, twisted net, shaky bridge, balancing beam and a little wooden table with posts for chairs. This large playground with a mix of nature play, water play and traditional play equipment has something for everyone to enjoy. The playground is fully fenced and gated, and I feel it would be more suited to children aged three years and older who have more strength to climb and balance. - The Manning Community Hub opened in early 2017 and includes two new play areas. The “Hub” is located on the edge of James Miller Oval so there is also plenty of open grass to run and play on. - Noah’s Playground opened in October 2018 in the beautiful Rosehill Waters Estate, South Guildford, the playground is inspired by the story of Noah’s Arc and is perfect for adventurous kids! The main feature is a huge wooden structure with three towers joined by suspension bridges and a tunnel slide in the middle. - Pine Park is a hidden gem in Darlington, in the Perth Hills. I grew up in the hills and the parents still live there so on today’s visit we thought we’d try somewhere different to the usual Park. I’m glad we did, it was a very pleasant morning and more importantly little Miss had a great time. It is a small playground with a fort / castle theme. - I’ve recently rediscovered Woodbridge Riverside Park and I think it’s great!  It’s located on the river in Woodbridge, near Guildford. This is a fully fenced park with safety latch gates at the main entrance. Although it’s not that close to us I’ve found it worth the drive as Miss 3 and friends have loved it each time we’ve been. There are so many play areas to explore, sand, nature and water play, slides, flying fox, tunnels, swings and a large expanse of green grass.
