Kalbarri has two playgrounds on the foreshore, the Kalbarri Nature Playground (new in 2018) overlooking the river mouth and another further up the river at the Marina opposite the Gorges Cafe. The Marina area has a small playground area completed with BBQ’s and picnic tables. Our children are a little older, and we let them play in the park while we sat in the cafe (Gorges Cafe) across the road. Local volunteers feed the birds daily at 8.45am on the foreshore, numbers vary at different times of the year with an average of 4 each day. The Kalbarri Skate Park is a popular place to while away the hours and exhaust the kids at the same time. The Skate Park is located a few minutes walk from the main Kalbarri Foreshore and is opposite a few of the local caravan, camping and hotel resorts. It is on a main road so not ideal for younger kids to go alone. Kalbarri Nature Playground overlooks the beautiful Murchison River on the Kalbarri Foreshore overshadowed by mature trees. The playground is a much needed addition to the town of Kalbarri which comes to life during the school holidays and is a firm favourite for many families.
