For instance, why not head to a Swan Valley super park? Go wild at Jungle Park Whiteman Edge or discover the fun and creative space of Aviary Creek Park. There’s so much to do!
On the other hand, why not get splashy at Rainbow Waters Playground? This is a free water playground with sprayers and splash pads suitable for kids of all ages. Whiteman Park Dog Park is a little known secret among the dog community The fully fenced and grassed 2.5-hectare playground has a doggie obstacle course and plenty of natural shade from mature trees. There’s even a separate enclosure for smaller dog breeds. There’s a 500m walkway around the circumference of the park so you can exercise yourself as well as your friend. Noah’s Playground opened in October 2018 in the beautiful Rosehill Waters Estate, South Guildford, the playground is inspired by the story of Noah’s Arc and is perfect for adventurous kids! The main feature is a huge wooden structure with three towers joined by suspension bridges and a tunnel slide in the middle. Despite his persistence, my son who is almost 3 couldn’t climb the towers without assistance, so I was up and down with him loads of times – once at the top there is very little risk of falling and it is spacious enough for adults. Livvi’s Place Playground in Whiteman Edge in Brabham is a unique $1.5 million all-inclusive playground which is a result of a partnership between Stockland and the Touched By Olivia Foundation. The playground is the first Livvi’s Place in Western Australia and has been created through the collaboration and creativity of hundreds of local school children. Today we discovered the newly opened pirate playground in Ellenbrook. It’s located on Verbana Drive near Cashman Avenue. It is fully fenced (although there are a few areas where little ones could escape in the space under the fencing), shaded and there is soft fall and well as sand within in the park. My 3 year old was in pirate heaven as the main part of the playground is shaped as a pirate ship with a steering wheel, pretend canons and a lookout. William Henry Oval Caversham is situated nearby to Caversham Community Centre, and close to Suffolk Street before Colorino Avenue. The oval itself hosts a lot of community sports and also has two playgrounds that are worth a visit. The first play area is suitable for older children, ages 3 and up, depending on your child’s climbing ability. The play area is sand-based, featuring a variety of equipment for the children to use. If you haven’t heard about the amazing Jungle Park near Whiteman Park, you’d have had to be living under a rock. Little Chef and I were heading there for a play, after lunch in the Swan Valley. On our way, we stumbled on a brand new spot that we’d never heard about – Flamewood Park Playground in Brabham. Flamewood Park is a small, but brilliant playground that is mainly focused on climbing equipment. Around the corner from the well-known Jungle Park in the Swan Valley, a brand-new park has been constructed and is now open for play. The 1.4 hectare Honeycomb park, located in Peet’s Brabham Estate, features a bee theme and 6-metre ‘honeycomb’ play structure What a great park! St Leonards Park is a fantastic playground for kids of all ages located in the St Leonards Estate in the Swan Valley. The playground consists of two separate areas catering for both toddlers and older children. Flindell Park is the latest playground and park area to be added to Taylor estate in Caversham. This quiet little park won’t be quiet for too much longer! With so much space its spot is perfect for a picnic while the kids play. It has a very relaxing vibe. Like you’re on an island. Tucked away in The Vines is Emms Green which is home to a quirky little playground. The playground has a focus on imaginative play. There is a large cubby house which contains a set of whisper poles at each end for secret chats. There are wooden planks to run through. And wooden poles to climb. Hesperia Park in Ellenbrook is a fantastic new playground that features a big slide and 7 meter high lookout tower! As well as the playground, the park has plenty of grass with a big kick about area, shady spots, an exercise zone, nature play and lots of footpaths, perfect for a scoot. Vale Adventure Park is Aveley’s newest playground, located on Egerton Drive it is walking distance to the local IGA and cafes, including a favourite of mine Mecca Gourmet. As we arrived my oldest children ran straight to the dual flying fox, they were all smiles racing each other to the end. Stirling Square is a beautiful park in the heart of Guildford, Surrey. Surrounded by classic buildings, this park has much to offer. You can find St Matthews Church built in 1873, Guildford war memorial, a duck pond and a rose garden. Conservation Wetlands Park, located in the Ariella Estate in Brabham has recently opened a new nature play area which is perfect for younger children. A weaving footpath will take you through the wetland, amongst the retained Melaleuca trees with plenty of places to sit and take in the nature around you. Brabham has recently added a new park to Ariella estate, Ariella Adventure Park, and it’s absolutely delightful. The park features an awesome dragonfly play structure which consists of two rope climbing frames and one giant slide. The kids loved climbing up high at the top of the frame then walking along, before doing their best speed down the slide! It kept them entertained for ages! Have you checked out Ellenbrook Skate Park? If you have children that love to skate, next time you’re in the area be sure to throw the skateboards and scooters in your car. The skate park is located at Coolamon Oval, where there’s also lots of grassed space to kick a footy and a fenced dog park too. I’ve recently rediscovered Woodbridge Riverside Park and I think it’s great! It’s located on the river in Woodbridge, near Guildford. This is a fully fenced park with safety latch gates at the main entrance. Although it’s not that close to us I’ve found it worth the drive as Miss 3 and friends have loved it each time we’ve been. There are so many play areas to explore, sand, nature and water play, slides, flying fox, tunnels, swings and a large expanse of green grass. Rushmore Green Toddler Playground in Bushmead is a brand new play area for small children. It’s a great spot for your small ones who aren’t quite large enough for the well-known Giant Park, which is located on the same road. The playground is completely fenced so your little ones can explore the area in a safe environment. At the new Clementine Estate, in Upper Swan, there’s a new playground to explore. It’s worth a little look, if you happen to be near the northern end of the Swan Valley. Found on Citrus Road, the small but mighty playground is decked out in vibrant citrus colours. There’s a huge lush lawn too, to run about, kick a ball and even take a roll down the hilly embankment. The Village West Playground at Whiteman Park has undergone a complete reconstruction with all new play equipment and shade sails. It’s a perfect park for summer days with almost the entire park covered by shade. It is still fully fenced with only one open entrance near the picnic tables. There are three main play equipment areas surrounded by a soft fall walkway which is painted with train tracks and great for little ones pretending to be a train. The Rainbow Waters Playground is located opposite the library in Ellenbrook. It is an award-winning free to use water park and was one of the first water parks in Perth to use the splash pad surface. The water park incorporates ‘innovative, environmental and sustainable elements, while also providing an attractive and creative playspace’. The water park is closed in the cooler months and re-opens September until May daily from 9.00am – 7.00pm. Aviary Creek Park is a fun and creative play space in the growing suburb of Aveley. The one-of-a-kind playground has been built around two natural lakes and the main feature is a giant water wheel with twisting tunnel slides! Spring Reserve in Guildford has a small but action packed playground and we just love all the indigenous features. Spring Reserve is a place of significance for local Aboriginal people, having once served as a source of fresh water. Augustus Park located in Jane Brook is situated overlooking a beautiful lake. The main play area is mainly made up of ropes which is something different to the usual playground.
