Located in Whiteman Park, the Motor Museum of Western Australia showcases over 200 historic vehicles spanning from the late 19th century to the present day. Home to Daniel Ricciardo’s 2014 Red Bull RB10 F1 Racing Car and rare vintage vehicles, the museum features both locally significant cars and internationally renowned examples.
Families can pick up a free activity booklet and pencil on arrival, packed with eye‑spy, a museum quiz, spot‑the‑difference and colouring‑in to keep kids engaged as they explore. Children can hop into the 1973 Leyland Marina, climb onto the Honda scooter for fun photos, and get hands‑on with interactive displays like the Scalextric slot car racing tracks and working cut‑away engines that show how a car operates. In Brockwell Hall, the Gold Rush display brings WA’s motoring past to life, with Australian animals to spot, a 1923 Rugby utility set up for life on the road, and volunteers who may demonstrate starting selected historic vehicles.
Open daily 10am–4pm (closed Christmas Day), the Motor Museum of Western Australia offers an enjoyable day out for car lovers of all ages. Its location within Whiteman Park also makes it easy to combine your visit with a picnic or a play at one of the nearby playgrounds.
