Buggybuddys Guide to Parks in Perth and Playgrounds in Perth
Find Playgrounds near me
The ultimate guide to the best playgrounds and parks in Perth! Kids love burning off energy at parks and playgrounds, and Perth’s got some of the best in the world. We’ve seen many new super parks open up recently with some impressive play equipment, features and facilities. Best of all, they’re all FREE!
We’ve listed sand and no-sand parks as we know this can be an issue with some parents not wanting their kids to play in sand. We’ve added categories to filter parks with water features, enclosed fenced playgrounds, partly fenced and non-fenced. Those with open water where you can visit the ducks and enjoy some wildlife during your trip to the park. Many parks have toilets. However, some local community playgrounds don’t, which can be a deal breaker if you’re potty training your little one or want to stay longer than an hour. So we’ve listed parks with toilets available.
Lastly, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee.

Katanning All Ages Playground is a one of a kind playground, the type of playground that creates memories that last a lifetime! Originally constructed in the early 1980s by locals, before the days of OH&S… I’m sure I’m not the only 80’s kid with fond memories of burning my bum doing down the GINORMOUS metal slides! Huntington Park is a lovely small park, with most of the space dedicated to various wonderful play structures which are all set on sand. The biggest draw for slightly older children would be the giant flying fox swings. There are two running parallel to each other, great for racing your friends! You pull the swing up onto a platform and go flying across the length of the park, all whilst seated on, and holding on tightly to the swing. There are several normal swings including a round nest style and baby swing. The main section with the rest of the Read more…

Be wary on weekends though, it is situated next door to the BMX track so can be a little hard to find parking. Ashdale Park is a lovely playground situated in Darch. The playground is located at the rear of Ashdale Primary, adjacent to a small pocket of bushland. My kids think the Catalina Beach Park in Mindarie is AWESOME! The first thing the kids did when we arrived was climb to the top of the 8-metre tall tower, before racing down ‘the steepest slide they have ever seen’! As they raced down one by one they let out terrifying screams… then immediately raced back to the top to go down again and again! The climb to the top of the tower is an easy and safe climb for confident kids. To reach the first platform there is a steel or rope ladder. On this level there is a Read more…
