Kids love going wild in at a park. But sometimes parenting is hard or tiring, what with sleepless nights, teething and everything else. Sometimes parents and carers need to exercise self-care. On a recent road trip, we took a detour through Northam, the detour was originally to check out the Northam Suspension Bridge, which is one of the longest pedestrian bridges in Australia. Coogee Beach Playground – it’s been many years since I visited Coogee Beach. Thankfully not much has changed. The beautiful lush grass strip is still there and is perfect for a game of cricket or dusting off the old frisbee or kicking the ball around. I’ve recently rediscovered Woodbridge Riverside Park and I think it’s great! ย It’s located on the river in Woodbridge, near Guildford. This is a fully fenced park with safety latch gates at the main entrance. Although it’s not that close to us I’ve found it worth the drive as Miss 3 and friends have loved it each time we’ve been. If youโve ducked into Woolies at the Banksia Grove Shopping Centre recently, youโll have probably noticed a new play area near the entrance. The brand new $1.4 million Lottery-West funded Whale Playground has opened up at Scarborough Beach. The playground is inspired by Noongar culture and features a blue whale skeleton as its main theme. Close to the Peninsula Estate area of Maylands, a new playground has been built at De Lacey Reserve. This playground has something for younger and older kids alike. The first thing Miss 4 spotted was the flying fox. This has a small tower to launch from and sand beneath should someone slip off mid-ride. Miss 4 loved it! It was her favourite part of the playground. We found smaller kids will need help bringing it to the tower as itโs hard work without a bit of muscle. Faulkner Park is better known as Volcano Park due to the large volcano that is the feature of the park. It is quite a large park with a separate area suited to young ones and toddlers, making it a great day out for the whole family. Hillcrest Park in Bayswater now has a new playground nestled on the edge of the oval between the Jamison-Frame Pavilion and the cricket practice cages. The first thing we noted at Hillcrest Park was the base is not sand. A definite plus if you donโt want sandy little feet in your car afterwards! Deep Water Point reserve in Mount Pleasant is a very popular spot for swimming, boating, water sports, picnics and birthday parties. Over the past year, this widely popular spot has undergone some extensive changes and the final stage is now complete and reopened in the last week.
