Buggybuddys Guide to Parks in Perth and Playgrounds in Perth
Find Playgrounds near me
The ultimate guide to the best playgrounds and parks in Perth! Kids love burning off energy at parks and playgrounds, and Perth’s got some of the best in the world. We’ve seen many new super parks open up recently with some impressive play equipment, features and facilities. Best of all, they’re all FREE!
We’ve listed sand and no-sand parks as we know this can be an issue with some parents not wanting their kids to play in sand. We’ve added categories to filter parks with water features, enclosed fenced playgrounds, partly fenced and non-fenced. Those with open water where you can visit the ducks and enjoy some wildlife during your trip to the park. Many parks have toilets. However, some local community playgrounds don’t, which can be a deal breaker if you’re potty training your little one or want to stay longer than an hour. So we’ve listed parks with toilets available.
Lastly, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee.

The bright red and white lighthouse is the centerpiece of the playground, it is only suitable for confident climbers as climbing nets are the only way up! The huge blue climbing tower is easy for little climbers to navigate and features a giant tunnel slide, a smaller slide, noughts and crosses, and a picnic table at the top. To the tower’s slide is a small sand play area with a bench, metal sift and buckets on pulley systems – this is the only sad at the playground so you are unlikely to go home Read more…

If you’re on the lookout for a brand-new playground to explore in Perth, look no further than Koala Cove Park! Nestled in the picturesque Movida Estate, this park is a haven for kids and parents alike. I recently visited with my two cheeky little rascals, Archer (7) and Spencer (6), and it’s safe to say we fell in love with Koala Cove Park from the moment we arrived. As we stepped out of the car, the boys couldn’t contain their excitement. Their eyes widened with wonder as they caught sight of the magnificent koala climbing structure that stands tall at Read more…

On ground level, there are plenty of nature play elements, including brightly painted stepping poles, Read more…

If you’re excited for the NOR Mitchell Freeway extension to open then you probably live near Anthony Waring Park, Clarkson. Add this spot to your list of places to “just get everybody out of the house” – including your fur baby! You’ll be forgiven for forgetting you are just in a quiet pocket of Clarkson if you take your kids to the bike track here. Surrounded by towering, beautiful eucalypts, there’s certainly a sense of sereneness about the place. Although the track itself is quite crumbly and well-used, there is also a great opportunity for nature play, with branches, sticks Read more…

Opened in 2020, this great park in Australind makes a great stopover on the way down south. It takes its name from the local Wardandi Noongar language. Karragarup means “place of crabs”, as the bay the park sits on is well known for it’s blue swimmer crab population. So, what better way to celebrate that than by playing on the giant blue swimmer crab that takes pride of place in the centre of the park! With one claw held high holding a net swing and water misters coming of him, you can’t miss it! The whole playground has a coastal Read more…

On the hunt for a post-breakfast play spot in Wanneroo, I found myself spoilt for choice. Preferring to steer away from much-loved Rotary Park after a recent school holidays visit to Café Elixir, my toddler and I ended up at nearby Nyunda Park on Nannatee Way. The playground’s softfall was replaced in late 2022 and the play equipment is all relatively new. It’s well suited to younger children, with easy access on to the main play structure, which comprises several platforms, a wooden bridge, colourful noughts and crosses, and small slide. The firemen’s pole and climbing frame requires more experience Read more…

While the Wanneroo skate park has been established for a long time a children’s playground is a more recent addition. The park sits within the confines of the showgrounds, meaning it is secure for little runaways! I’m not sure if the playground colours of green and purple are a nod to the 1970’s Wanneroo Primary School colours, or just a happy accident, either way, it is a fun combo. The equipment features a curved slide, swings and a rowboat. There are a lot of ramps to run along and climbing frames. The whole playground is covered in shade sails to Read more…
