Jurassic Kingdom is back at Burswood Park, and itโs bigger, louder and more roarsome than ever. If youโre looking for an easy school holiday activity, this is one that ticks all the boxes. Get ready to enjoy a journey back in timeโฆ just a small warning, dinosaurs can be unpredictable.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like youโve stepped into another world. Towering dinosaurs surround you, moving, roaring and looking so lifelike that the kids were equal parts excited and slightly cautious. There are over 20 animatronic dinosaurs throughout the park, making every turn feel like a new prehistoric discovery.

This year brings even more to explore, with new animatronic dinosaurs added to the experience, so even if youโve been before, thereโs plenty that will feel completely new.

Thereโs a great mix of zones throughout the park, which makes it feel more immersive as you move from one area to the next. Raptor Valley is a standout, especially for kids who love the faster, fiercer dinosaurs, while The Hatchery is a fun stop where little ones can get up close to the โbabyโ dinosaurs.

One of the biggest new highlights is the aquarium-style experience, where kids can design their very own aquatic predator and watch it come to life.

The Ice Age Exhibit has also returned, taking you on a journey into a frozen prehistoric world and adding something a little different to the overall experience.

The Fossil Dig Pits are still a must-do. Give the kids a brush and theyโre instantly in full paleontologist mode, digging away and uncovering hidden fossils.

Itโs not just the displays either. Keep an eye out, because you might come face-to-face with a roaming dinosaur when you least expect it. And if youโre lucky, you might even get to boogie at the Nova 93.7 Raptor Paddock, where the energy is always high and the kids love getting involved.

When you need a break from the dinosaurs, the Jurassic Carnival is the perfect next stop. Thereโs a great mix of rides for all ages, along with classic sideshow games where everyone wins. Itโs a nice balance between the immersive dinosaur experience and good old-fashioned carnival fun.

Before heading home, finish up with a wander through the Dino Shop or check out the showbags. There are food trucks and chill zones set up throughout the park, and you can also bring your own food and drinks, which makes it really easy (and affordable) for families.

If you have older kids, itโs definitely worth checking out a night session. As the sun sets, the park transforms with lights, sound and a slightly more dramatic atmosphere that makes everything feel even more immersive. The Fire Towers add to that experience as well, giving those night sessions an extra wow factor.

Tickets are flexible depending on whether you want rides included or prefer to purchase them once youโre inside. Children under 2 are free. There are staggered entry times, but once youโre in, you can stay until 4:30pm for day sessions. Night sessions run strictly from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Jurassic Kingdom is one of those events that just works. Itโs interactive, constantly evolving, and genuinely fun for both kids and adults. If youโre looking for something to fill a day (or night) during the school holidays, this is an easy choice.

Step back in time, embrace your inner explorer and enjoy a roarsome family day outโฆ just remember, dinosaurs can be unpredictable.
