Amberton Beach Lighthouse Park, Eglinton

Amberton Beach Lighthouse Park located 20km North of Joondalup. The 5 million dollar foreshore playground features an 8.5 metre tall lighthouse with twisting tunnel slides, a ship play structure, sand play, a rope maze, and basketball court – the kids will never want to go home!

The bright red and white lighthouse is the centerpiece of the playground, it is only suitable for confident climbers as climbing nets are the only way up! Saying that my fearless 3 year olds were able to climb to the top unassisted. There are two twisting tunnel slides coming off the lighthouse at different heights

Heading down the soft fall hill is a smaller open yellow slide – I found this one to be faster than the tunnel slides.

My toddlers absolutely loved the interactive sand play area which included buckets, a pulley system, conveyor belt, stencil, transporter, and scales. It is the perfect space for curious minds and enhancing motor skills, concentration and learning to work with others. The space is partially shaded with a large shade sail.

In the sand play area there are marine spring rockers that give the playground an extra pop of creativity with their mosaic-style finish.

The ship-themed play structure is also perfect for younger children, it features a slide, telescope, wheel, tunnels, climbing nets, and port windows. I loved listening to the kids interacting with each other playing pirates and being on the lookout for sharks.

This space also includes a birdnest swing and is shaded with shade sails.

Keeping with the coastal theme of the playground there is a treasure map rope maze for kids to explore and plenty of wooden stepping logs and large rocks adding to that coastal vibe.

For the sporty kids, there is a basketball court with a basketball hoop and netball ring as well as a large turfed kickabout area, a cricket pitch, and AFL posts.

There are two large shaded picnic areas, a double BBQ and there are public toilets across the car park. The playground is also partly faced near the basketball court to stop little wonders from easily accessing the car park.

Amberton Beach Lighthouse Park is located opposite Amberton Beach and The Amberton Beach Bar and Kitchen meaning it is the prime spot to enjoy a sunny Perth day!
