Britannia Reserve Pump Track Britannia Reserve Pump Track is a 1.2km pump track and nature bike trail in Leederville. Close to the city, it’s a great spot to take active kids of all ages out riding. Britannia Reserve Pump Track was originally installed as part of a Pop-Up Play initiative in April 2019. It has quickly become a permanent fixture. The popular Mills Park facility has recently opened a new all-abilities playground near the bbqs and grassed area. This new edition to the existing Mills Park Playspace and Skate Plaza is fully fenced and double gated which is also great for younger children. A good amount of the enclosed playground area is covered by shade sails and there are also a few seating options for parents too. Found in a new inner city housing estate, Montario Playground in Shenton Playground is wonderful place to let the kids explore. There’s lots of fun and fantastical elements packed into this compact playground including some “Alice in Wonderland” style giant toadstools and even some giant eggs. The focus of the playground is a treehouse play structure, which has ropes and ladders to climb up to the top, and a big blue slide to take back town to the sand. Wyong Reserve in Bentley is a great little park with a lot going on. The playground is fully fenced and has a pathway running around it that is designed as a road to ride scooters and bikes along. There a few large speed humps, and we said next time we come we will have to bring the scooter. There are benches around the playground and an undercover area with BBQs and picnic benches. The Elizabeth Quay Playground is a maritime-themed playground that has been designed in collaboration with Nature Play. Masons Gardens in Dalkeith is a lovely neighbourhood park, with an art trail, play equipment and even a turtle habitat! If you head into the turtle pond area, you’re sure to spot a shy Oblong Turtle or two. The pond is fenced, with access through a couple of gates. Botany Park located in Hammond Park has just undergone a fantastic upgrade. It is now toddler-friendly fully fenced with various pool gate entry points. Found within the Lloyd Penn Park, the playground named after local resident and former councillor Margaret Holland is a little gem in the Midland area. Fontana Park is a brand new (April 2022) little park is hidden away in Trinity Estate, Alkimos. Whilst not big, it kept my 3 children busy for easily over an hour. There is a huge log swing which they loved and lots of room for everyone! The rock climbing wall was popular with my younger 2 children, which takes you up to the epic slide!
