Holland Park in Piara Waters is yet another brilliant playground in the popular family suburb. There’s lots of elements packed into this park including nature play, as well as a fun fort! The wooden play equipment is built on woodchip, giving the space a rustic vibe and there’s a sandpit too. Play among trees at Henley Brook’s Wongin Park! The treehouse-inspired playground might be small, but it packs a big punch! From ball play and big slides to water fun and an onsite cafe, Wongin Park is definitely a crowd-pleaser!!! The main feature of Wongin Park is the treehouse which wraps around the majority of the playground and is accessible by ramp, ropes, a rock climbing wall, ladders and stairs. We recently stopped at the new Ernest Johnson Reserve playground in South Perth. This is a great little playground with plenty for mixed ages, a large oval and bbq facilities. There is also a carpark with plenty of parking. The space is suitable for dogs with a drinking fountain and doggy bowl but dogs must stay out the playground. The playground area is spread out into about four separate areas. Each area does have benches or seating nearby parents can easily supervise their kids play. Morris Mundy Reserve is a lovely reserve in Kensington with basketball and netball hoop, cricket wickets, football goals, large green oval, picnic tables and a new shaded playground. The reserve backs onto houses on three sides although not fully fenced is fairly safe as it’s a long way between the playground equipment and the road. The playground is shaded by shade sails and large well-established tree. I could only see one picnic table but we put down a picnic rug under the tree shade and it was lovely. In Dayton, there is a new playground on Arthur Street known as Dayton Neighboured Park. It is suitable for kids of all ages, with two primary play structures to choose from. The first structure is suitable for older children, especially those who enjoy climbing, as it consists of ropes bridges, and monkey bars.  It has a tunnel in the middle and a slide. The Elizabeth Water Park is an interactive water feature located at Elizabeth Quay, which at 1000 square metres is over three times the size of the Water Labyrinth in Forrest Place. The Water Park is located right opposite the Elizabeth Quay train station so it is easily accessible via public transport. The Water Park features a central ‘island’, bordered by 3 smaller circular ‘islands’.  It features (not pictured) a mosaic floor that is inspired by many elements of the Noongar people. Perth’s newest inner-city playground, Wellington Square Playground, has just opened! Koolangka Koolangka Waabiny means children’s playground in Whadjuk Nyoongar. WA’s native Banksia plant theme can be spotted throughout the vast play space. The colourful floating disc above the playground not only provides shade but also reflect the stars and sky from Dreamtime stories. The colours seen throughout the playground are inspired from the colours from native Western Australian native flowers. A block from the Daglish Train Station, tucked away down a suburban street is a brilliant new playground. The teeny tiny Jersey Street Playground in Jolimont packs a big punch with great traditional equipment and nature play that will keep kids aged from about 3 years and up entertained. The small playground is partly shaded by mature trees and surrounded by bushes that have little winding pathways in-between – perfect game of hide and seek. Strive Park, Girrawheen   Strive Park is a small park located in the Blackmore Park Estate, in Girrawheen. The playground here features nature play elements, some traditional play elements, and a bike and scooter track. It’s sure to be a hit with the kids! Miss 6 loved the traditional part of the playground first. She headed straight for the swings and climbing equipment. There are three swings available. Two regular swings and a birds nest swing. Fairway Park has recently been upgraded by the City of Cockburn.  It is a gorgeous little space with a sweet Fairy theme. The playground has been designed with imaginative play in mind with a fairy theme, there is a gum leaf pod cubby house just alongside a mushroom table & chairs set, perfect for your little fairies, pixies, gnomes or pirates to have a snack while planning their next adventure. Ready, set, go! The Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park is a brilliant spot for children big and small to get active. The Heron Park Estate has created a scooter track, as well as a small skate park, and even basketball/football facilities – so remember to pack a ball too! The brilliant Madox Playground and Pumptrack in Forrestdale has a smaller bowl than you’d usually find at a skate park – perfect for beginners – as well as a great little playground. Mt Henry Bridge Reserve, Mount Pleasant Mount Henry Bridge Reserve is a multi-use recreation area on the river in Mount Pleasant. It is situated in the shadow of the Mt Henry Bridge, and has a great kids playground and an on-site cafe. The first thing we did on arriving was grab some lunch at the Kerbside Cafe. This is a food van which is permanently located at the park. They sell hot and cold drinks, ice cream and delicious toasties. You pick your fillings and the friendly staff make them up on the spot. Northern Parklands is a brand new playground as part of a redevelopment in Bentley. The parklands were created with the input of local school children and teachers and the outcome was a play space that is quite different from the norm. There’s a street games strip which is such a great idea and includes hopscotch, noughts and crosses, basketball and netball, a climbing frame mini obstacle course and mini skateboarding course. Wow, wow, wow! Shipwreck Cove park in Golden Bay, has totally nailed it! What a fantastic family space and visually it looks stunning! A beautiful green parkland along Golden Bay foreshore, right next to the Indian Ocean. The shipwreck themed park has a playground including a separate fenced area for toddlers, a cool pump track, a cycle and scooter circuit, BBQs, shaded picnic tables, toilets, showers, lots of parking, a stunning new lookout point and beach access.
