Ready, set, go! The Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park is a brilliant spot for children big and small to get active. The Heron Park Estate has created a scooter track, as well as a small skate park, and even basketball/football facilities – so remember to pack a ball too!
The road-style scooter track, winds around a rope climbing frame.
The lap begins at the start line, there are road markings, traffic signs, pedestrian crossings, pit stop area and of course a checked flag and podium for the winners.
Little racers will love zooming around the track, especially riding over the humps!
The skate park is perfect for beginners, with enough features to keep more confident kids happy.
Skaters will love the drop in ramps, rails and more. Shaded seating is found around the skate park.
Though there’s no traditional play equipment at this park, there’s still plenty of play to be had with a challenging climbing frame. The wobbly rope ladders are connected to floating pods, where kids can sit like monkeys in a tree! Given the height of the climbing frame, it’s recommended for older children or very confident little climbers.
Little Chef loved kicking goals on the sports court. As well as a soccer goal, there are basketball markings, though at the time we visited the hoop was missing. There are also a couple of small grassed areas for running about.
Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park has a few large, shady shelters with tables and benches. There is also a water fountain and BBQs, making it perfect for a picnic or gathering in the park. Note that there are no toilets on site.
If your kids love to skate and scoot, the brilliant Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park is well worth a visit!
Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park is found at Barossa Loop, Harrisdale.

Well worth a visit with middle to older kids. The able and confident kids were having a fantastic time, mine is 7. I’m not sure how much fun the very little ones (and their parents) were having today.
Definitely take a ball, water and snacks. It feels quite isolated and the suburb surrounding is still very much growing. There are no big trees, no obvious shops nearby (at least obvious for a new-comer to the area) and we were all sharing the available shade. That said, I met and chatted to three very friendly families today.
When the central park and race track was a bit too busy for my little person, we explored the longer, outer footway, including two bridges and waterbird spotting. Give it a go.
