Fairway Park has recently been upgraded by the City of Cockburn. It is a gorgeous little space with a sweet Fairy theme. Located at Mullaloo Beach foreshore closest to the Mullaloo Beach Hotel and Mullaloo lifesaving club, the Mullaloo Beach Pirate playground is sand based with excellent shade coverage. Cockburn ARC Playground a fantastic new playground has been developed along side the new Cockburn ARC rec centre over looking a lovely wetland area. One side of the playground features a large rope spiderweb. To get to the other side of the playground you need to journey through the tunnel, climb up the rocks or on the wooden stepping logs to go down the double tunnel slide. Richard Aldersea Park is situated among the leafy streets of Clarkson, just behind Clarkson Primary School. Little Miss and I discovered it while out for a drive, and found its suitable for a range of ages and abilities, from toddlers upwards. The main play structure has two slides, and lots to climb. Barwon Park Craigiesituated in the family-friendly suburb of Craigie, Barwon Park Craigie has a great mixture of play equipment and green space to keep most active kids busy. On our visit, my Miss 3 immediately headed to the wood chip area first. This is a good spot for toddlers and kids who like imaginative play. Kinross Park Playground also known as Falklands Park is a small local park with little facilities or attraction but worth a quick visit as it’s set back off the main road and has a large open space for the kids to run around. During the autumn and winter months the park gets very busy at weekends with Auskick games. The playframe consists of 2 slides, ladders, tunnel, climbing walls, monkey bars, noughts and crosses and a flying fox. There’s also a seesaw, rocker and 2 swings. Germano Park is a peaceful, leafy park with a playground to suit most kids located in Wanneroo. If your kids love to climb, they’ll love this park. What struck me first when we arrived at Germano Park was how quiet and green it was. The park is full of trees and soft birdsong. The playground area is covered by shade sails with a sand base. This features climbing rope equipment in the form of a rope tunnel, a rope ladder, and ropes with plastic platforms to balance across. John MacMillan Park next to the library in Victoria Park has just reopened with a brand new nature playground, basketball courts, open grass and more. The new equipment has been designed around the lovely trees giving it a nice combination of natural shade and shade sails. There are toilets conveniently located behind the basketball area. Promenade Park is tucked amongst apartment buildings in Burswood. It has recently been updated with new playground equipment. We stopped by for a play recently and found it had a lot of different activities to keep little ones occupied. There were a number of board activities such as a word search, ball maze and line up 4 which added extra interaction and different activities to the usual playground equipment.
