Tucked away in the heart of old Baldivis, Peckham Boulevard Playground is a lovely little surprise for families. Morris Mundy Reserve is a lovely reserve in Kensington with basketball and netball hoop, cricket wickets, football goals, large green oval, picnic tables and a new shaded playground. The reserve backs onto houses on three sides although not fully fenced is fairly safe as it’s a long way between the playground equipment and the road. The playground is shaded by shade sails and large well-established tree. I could only see one picnic table but we put down a picnic rug under the tree shade and it was lovely. Cantwell Park in Pinjarra is a brilliant stop on a road trip to WA’s south west. The massive park is right in the heart of the town, on the banks of the Murray River. We usually grab some freshly baked treats from the yummy Pinjarra Bakery and eat them at the park. You may have passed Cantwell Park and not noticed, as you drove over the South West Highway bridge. The Rivergums Adventure Park is a monster inspired nature-based adventure playground and is the perfect place to let your child’s imagination run wild! From the moment my 2 year old spotted the huge monster feet he was roaring with excitement!!!   The main feature is the monsters nest climbing tower and a 6-metre high slide – my 8 year old could have stayed and played for hours. Garvey Park is a great local park just at the end of Fauntleroy Avenue on the river’s edge in Ascot. The kids love the playground as it has something to suit both my sensible 5 year old and my adventurous almost 3 year old! The play equipment is all on sand with a large sail shade over most of the equipment which is great in the warmer months. In amongst all the shiny office buildings in West Perth is Totterdell Park. The leafy inner city park is made up of a  soft fall play area with a large metal  play frame that features two slides, “shop” window, climbing  nets, ramps, monkey bars, a  climbing wall and more.  There is also a see-saw and fun nest swing too. Tucked away in The Vines is Emms Green which is home to a quirky little playground. The playground has a focus on imaginative play. Whitfords Nodes Park is a beautiful park for family BBQs, picnics and mums’ groups during, Autumn, Spring and Winter months.  It’s also a great place to walk through with scooters/bikes if you’re heading out for a family walk. Tucked behind the Mundaring Village shopping centre is Lion Pioneer Park, a large grassed area with a playground, park benches and a covered picnic table. It can be found off the Stoneville Road entrance or via ramp or stairs from the shopping centre near the Post Office. The play equipment and grass is shaded naturally by the large trees around the area. We visited late afternoon and it was well shaded.
