What’s to love in the Swan Valley?
Visit awesome animal parks! Get up close with animals. Pet a kangaroo, cuddle a koala or snuggle with a snake. Plan a visit to the West Australian Reptile Park or Caversham Wildlife Park. Alternatively, experience a taste of the farm with Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. Milk a goat, feed a lamb, and cuddle with guinea pigs and rabbits.
Find a family-friendly restaurant or winery. Stop for lunch where the kids can play and you can relax and enjoy your meal. Likewise, discover delicious ice cream, chocolate or nougat with the kids.
On the other hand, why not enjoy a round of Supa Golf, the Motor Museum of Western Australia or take a ride on the Bennett Brook Railway? Make some precious memories and spend some quality time with the family.

Hesperia Park in Ellenbrook is a fantastic new playground that features a big slide and 7 meter high lookout tower! As well as the playground, the park has plenty of grass with a big kick about area, shady spots, an exercise zone, nature play and lots of footpaths, perfect for a scoot. The Rainbow Waters Playground is located opposite the library in Ellenbrook. It is an award-winning free to use water park and was one of the first water parks in Perth to use the splash pad surface. The water park incorporates ‘innovative, environmental and sustainable elements, while also providing an attractive and creative playspace’. The water park is closed in the cooler months and re-opens September until May daily from 9.00am – 7.00pm. Stirling Square is a beautiful park in the heart of Guildford, Surrey. Surrounded by classic buildings, this park has much to offer. You can find St Matthews Church built in 1873, Guildford war memorial, a duck pond and a rose garden. There is plenty of seating and walking paths for you to enjoy as well as shelters and trees providing shade. Brabham has recently added a new park to Ariella estate, Ariella Adventure Park, and it’s absolutely delightful. The park features an awesome dragonfly play structure which consists of two rope climbing frames and one giant slide. The kids loved climbing up high at the top of the frame then walking along, before doing their best speed down the slide! It kept them entertained for ages! I’ve recently rediscovered Woodbridge Riverside Park and I think it’s great! It’s located on the river in Woodbridge, near Guildford. This is a fully fenced park with safety latch gates at the main entrance. Although it’s not that close to us I’ve found it worth the drive as Miss 3 and friends have loved it each time we’ve been. There are so many play areas to explore, sand, nature and water play, slides, flying fox, tunnels, swings and a large expanse of green grass. Augustus Park located in Jane Brook is situated overlooking a beautiful lake. The main play area is mainly made up of ropes which is something different to the usual playground. So if your kids love climbing and hanging this is a park for them. The playground is based on sand and wood chips. Have you checked out Ellenbrook Skate Park? If you have children that love to skate, next time you’re in the area be sure to throw the skateboards and scooters in your car. The skate park is located at Coolamon Oval, where there’s also lots of grassed space to kick a footy and a fenced dog park too. William Henry Oval Caversham is situated nearby to Caversham Community Centre, and close to Suffolk Street before Colorino Avenue. The oval itself hosts a lot of community sports and also has two playgrounds that are worth a visit. The first play area is suitable for older children, ages 3 and up, depending on your child’s climbing ability. The play area is sand-based, featuring a variety of equipment for the children to use. The Village West Playground at Whiteman Park has undergone a complete reconstruction with all new play equipment and shade sails. It’s a perfect park for summer days with almost the entire park covered by shade. It is still fully fenced with only one open entrance near the picnic tables. There are three main play equipment areas surrounded by a soft fall walkway which is painted with train tracks and great for little ones pretending to be a train. Aviary Creek Park is a fun and creative play space in the growing suburb of Aveley. The one-of-a-kind playground has been built around two natural lakes and the main feature is a giant water wheel with twisting tunnel slides! The water wheel is split into two levels, the first level has a blue slide and wooden bridge that leads to a ladder back down to ground level. Whiteman Park Dog Park is a little known secret among the dog community The fully fenced and grassed 2.5-hectare playground has a doggie obstacle course and plenty of natural shade from mature trees. There’s even a separate enclosure for smaller dog breeds. There’s a 500m walkway around the circumference of the park so you can exercise yourself as well as your friend. Flindell Park is the latest playground and park area to be added to Taylor estate in Caversham. This quiet little park won’t be quiet for too much longer!
