Noggos Kitchen and Coffee, Maylands
In the Peninsula Estate of Maylands, you can find family friendly Noggos Kitchen and Coffee, a bright and cozy cafe located close to local parks.
Having explored a local park, Miss 5 and I went looking for coffee and a bite to eat. Near the rear of an apartment complex I first lived at in Perth, we found Noggos, a bright, welcoming cafe. This is the sister cafe of Little Donkey Corner in Tuart Hill.
On walking in, we first saw the iconic dachshund mural on the wall, the Noggos mascot. Around the cafe, adding to the atmosphere, are other dachshund accessories as well as hanging plants and mirrors. The wooden furniture adds to the warmth of the atmosphere.
Miss 5 decided she wanted a vanilla milkshake and a cookie for morning tea, and I ordered a latte and a ham and cheese croissant. This came to around $16, which I feel is pretty reasonable.
The milkshake came in a convenient takeaway cup and had a nice, creamy vanilla flavour. The cookie must have been good as I could barely get a decent photo before it was gobbled up!
My latte was a lovely blend and also came as a takeaway as I wasn’t sure how long Miss 5 was be happy to stay. The croissant came nicely toasted with a good amount of ham and cheese inside. Yum!
By the door, we found a selection of kids toys and books, as well as kids cups and cutlery. Miss 5 loved playing with a Thomas the Tank Engine train she found among these, driving around the table. We also spotted a handful of high chairs available for littler diners.
As well as delicious coffee, cakes and pastries, Noggos also offers a menu of meals to choose from. While there isn’t a set kids menu here, there are items kids would enjoy or could share such as the Canadian French Toast, burgers, eggs cooked your way or just a simple bowl of fries. All meals are cooked fresh in-house.
There is plenty of parking available at the front of Noggos Kitchen and Coffee, and room inside to park a pram or two. There is a large table that dominates the centre of the cafe that would be perfect for larger gatherings.
The only downside I noticed was a lack of a ramp for wheelchairs and prams. Therefore I don’t think wheelchairs would be able to access the doorway and similarly you may need help lifting a pram or stroller up the steps.
Noggos is located close to local parks and to walking and riding paths along the river. Almost across the street, you can find Lake Bungana, which features bike and walking paths, a playground and picnic area.
