Point Fraser Foreshore Reserve is a must visit if youโre heading into the city for the day with older kids. The equipment in this park is more suited towards school-aged children due to the equipment and steep hills around the landscape of the park. We made our journey to the Point Fraser Reserve directly from the city, itโs very easy to find if you just follow the river edge. Chidley Point Reserve is an absolute gem of a place and one of my favourite places to hang out with the kids. Herdsman Lake Regional Park is a great location for a family walk, play and picnic. There are 2 playgrounds around the lake, one at Glendalough Open Space and the other at Popeye Lake Parkland. Glendalough Open Space is a lovely little play area with parking directly next to it off the main road access. ย This area has swings, seesaw, flying fox, slides and numerous climbing frames to entertain kids of all ages. Spring is the perfect time to visit Lesmurdie Falls, foundย on the escarpment of the Perth Hillsย in Mundy Regional Park.ย And you donโt need to travel very far. Lesmurdie Falls is just a 30 minute drive east from Perth CBD. Ifย weโve had decentย rainfallย over winter,ย then the falls will be flowing and there are also a host of wildflowers on display too.ย We even spotted a bright blue fairy wren, though I wasnโt quick enough to take a picture! McCallum Park is a large, but seemingly underused, park located near that difficult to negotiate junction between Shepperton Road and Canning Hwy. Itโs accessed from Taylor St (off Canning Hwy) and there are plenty of parking spaces (some shaded) on both Taylor St. and the adjacent Garland St. Toilets (LHS) and parking on Taylor St. There are male and female toilets on both Taylor and Garland Streets and these wereโฆ.wellโฆwhat you would expect in a park.
