Surrounding by a road and houses this sleepy hollow park is a gem of a find! It looks like many other parks in Perth with a playframe, slide, climbing, fireman’s pole, rocker, seasaw, swings etc.. There’s even a fully fenced pond/water feature What makes this park truly interesting is this!! Yes it’s a Hobbit Hole and tunnel! The new Tomato Lake all-abilities playground has opened and it appears to be a big hit as it was very busy when we visited. The playground is in front between the cafe and the bbq picnic area. The bbq area has also been refreshed with new picnic tables. The playground has been designed to suit toddlers through to older kids, including those with disabilities. The brand new $1 million Steam Train Adventure Playground at Millars Landing Estate in Baldivis celebrates the area’s early association with trains and timber milling. Today we discovered the newly opened pirate playground in Ellenbrook. It’s located on Verbana Drive near Cashman Avenue. It is fully fenced (although there are a few areas where little ones could escape in the space under the fencing), shaded and there is soft fall and well as sand within in the park. My 3 year old was in pirate heaven as the main part of the playground is shaped as a pirate ship with a steering wheel, pretend canons and a lookout. This brand new park is situated in the Constellation release in Atlantis Beach Estate. Featuring climbing structures, swings, turfed open areas and shaded seating it’s the perfect place for picnics and play all year round. Miss 7 and Miss 5 headed straight for the spinning roundabout which was a huge hit. They spent a lot of time here spinning and giggling together! The park is mostly sand pit based. Cockburn ARC Playground a fantastic new playground has been developed along side the new Cockburn ARC rec centre over looking a lovely wetland area. One side of the playground features a large rope spiderweb. To get to the other side of the playground you need to journey through the tunnel, climb up the rocks or on the wooden stepping logs to go down the double tunnel slide. Located in Viveash on the Swan River, Reg Bond Reserve includes walk and cycle trails that link it to Woodbridge Riverside Park. Whiteman Park Dog Park is a little known secret among the dog community The fully fenced and grassed 2.5-hectare playground has a doggie obstacle course and plenty of natural shade from mature trees. Opened in 2020, this great park in Australind makes a great stopover on the way down south. It takes its name from the local Wardandi Noongar language. Carefully built around and under existing trees, covering 10,000sq m with wheelchair access throughout, a sensory garden, flying fox, climbing obstacles, slides, swings, picnic areas, water play, toilet facilities and fully fenced… it certainly ticks all the boxes!!! JH Abrahams Reserve is a great park and playground located on the Swan River in Crawley. There is a shaded playground area, plenty of grass space for running and ball games, picnic tables, BBQs, drinking fountains, toilets and great views. There is a bike/walk path along the river if you want to include a walk or ride. The river is below the river wall and quite a distance from the playground. Edwardes Park Nature Playground is an extension to the existing small playground and sits adjacent to a large oval. Made from recycled material it makes a nice addition to the suburban area and utilises material from the Henderson waste treatment facility. Edwardes Park Nature Playground features a double flying fox including one to suit disabled children with an access ramp. Pine Park is a hidden gem in Darlington, in the Perth Hills. I grew up in the hills and my parents still live there. On today’s visit we thought we’d try somewhere different to the usual park. I’m glad we did, it was a very pleasant morning and more importantly little Miss had a great time. It is a small playground with a castle theme. Bert Wright Park is a small nature playground located behind the library and community centre in Bayswater. For a small area, there is plenty to offer, the park has a nature play area, Basketball hoop, expanse of grass, concrete pathway and BBQ and covered picnic table. The playground was popular even on a cold winter morning, with a number families enjoying the nature play. Tucked behind the Mundaring Village shopping centre is Lion Pioneer Park, a large grassed area with a playground, park benches and a covered picnic table. It can be found off the Stoneville Road entrance or via ramp or stairs from the shopping centre near the Post Office.
