Tucked behind the Mundaring Village shopping centre is Lion Pioneer Park, a large grassed area with a playground, park benches and a covered picnic table. It can be found off the Stoneville Road entrance or via ramp or stairs from the shopping centre near the Post Office. On a recent road trip, we took a detour through Northam, the detour was originally to check out the Northam Suspension Bridge, which is one of the longest pedestrian bridges in Australia. The structure itself is mainly wooden with a sand pit base and features a wavy slide and rope ladders. If you’ve ducked into Woolies at the Banksia Grove Shopping Centre recently, you’ll have probably noticed a new play area near the entrance.
