Garvey Park is a great local park just at the end of Fauntleroy Avenue on the river’s edge in Ascot. The kids love the playground as it has something to suit both my sensible 5 year old and my adventurous almost 3 year old! On a recent road trip, we took a detour through Northam, the detour was originally to check out the Northam Suspension Bridge, which is one of the longest pedestrian bridges in Australia. Close to the cafe strip in Mount Lawley, we discovered a lush, green park with a shaded playground, lawn to run on and paths to ride a bike or scooter. We usually go to the Kent St Weir area which also has the Canning River Cafe there but recently we discovered another playground a short walk away.
