Karrinyup Shopping Centre is home to Perth’s newest super playground! The Cubby is a 950sqm play space located at the new West Deck which is part of Karrinyup’s impressive $800 million redevelopment.
The main feature is a huge multi-level cubby house – at 16-metres long, 5-metres high, and 5-metres wide, it certainly is the biggest cubby I have ever seen!
The one of a kind cubby house isn’t just big, it also allows for a whole heap of fun with slides, ladders, ropes, fireman’s poles, swings, music play, a rock climbing wall and a talking tube.
My four year old couldn’t get enough of the 4-metre twirly slide!
On the left of The Cubby is a soft fall space with in-ground trampolines, a spring cup and swinging benches.
You’ll find a sand play area on the right of The Cubby with a mud kitchen.
There is a separate sandpit with plenty of buckets and shovels for kids to play with.
The Cubby at Karrinyup Shopping Centre also features a water play zone! Just don’t forget the bring a change of clothes.
Lastly, there is a small nature play area with stepping logs that lead to a second much smaller sandpit – this sandpit is perfect for babies who are ready for the hustle and bustle of toddlers and older children.
There is a hand washing, sanitising and sunscreen station. Toilets and parent room are located nearby.
There is a beautiful grassed area with tables and benches, you can bring your own picnic or grab some takeaway from one of the surrounding restaurants – we grabbed some fish and chips from The British Chippy. Other kids friendly eateries in The West Deck dining and entertainment precinct include San Churro, Grill’d, Billy Van Creamy and Pretzel.
