Craigie Leisure Centre is a brilliant all‑round spot for active families, especially if your kids love the water. Tucked just off Whitfords Avenue in Craigie, it brings together indoor and outdoor pools, a dedicated splash pad, sports courts, a gym and plenty of kids’ programs, so you can easily turn a quick swim into a full day out.
Inside, the leisure pool is where most families start. One side of the pool has a gentle, beach‑style entry that’s ideal for toddlers and cautious swimmers, with shallow water and small fountains to splash in.
As it gradually deepens, the space opens up for bigger kids who love getting under the tall tower of tipping buckets. The suspense of waiting for the buckets to fill and dump water over everyone’s heads always gets squeals and giggles, and it’s a great way for kids to build water confidence while still having fun close to the edge.
The leisure pool is partially divided by a low wall, which helps keep the littlies from suddenly wandering into deeper water. There are usually a few pool noodles and kickboards around that children can play with under supervision.

Around the pool there’s shaded grass for picnics, some sun lounges to relax on, barbecues for a sausage sizzle, and separate outdoor toilets and changerooms so you don’t have to duck back inside once you’re set up.
Inside, families will appreciate the practical touches that make visits smoother: lockers for valuables, plenty of toilets and changerooms, and an on‑site café overlooking the pool area. The café serves simple, kid‑friendly options like toasties, sausage rolls, chips, muffins, cakes and sandwiches, along with hot drinks, cold drinks and ice creams. There are tables, chairs and highchairs, so you can refuel before heading back in for another swim or drying off to go home.

There’s a fully equipped gym, a wide range of fitness classes (including options for over‑50s), indoor sports courts for basketball, netball and soccer, and a Crèche and Kidz Club that let parents fit in a workout while the kids are looked after.
