The first thing you’ll say when you walk into Landing 7 in Chittering is, “Wow, this place is huge!” Located around 45 minutes drive from Perth, it’s well worth the trip for a family day out.
The outdoor dining area is incredibly spacious, with heaps of tables and plenty of seating close to the playground, making it easy for parents to relax while keeping an eye on the kids.
There are also undercover seating options. With mature trees everywhere, it really makes for a beautiful country setting.
Step inside the restaurant and you’ll find a lovely modern but warm Australian-themed dining space, along with a small gift area that’s worth browsing before you leave.
The real standout, though, is the incredible playground. The feature everyone will be talking about is the aeroplane that kids can climb inside, it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before.
There’s also a huge climbing frame with a tunnel slide, a flying fox, balancing logs, toddler swings, regular swings, an undercover sand pit, tunnels, a nest swing and so much more.
The playground caters for children of all ages, from toddlers through to older kids, and it’s so impressive that our family happily spent hours exploring it.
The food certainly lives up to the setting. The menu offers something for everyone, including a fantastic kids’ menu with plenty of choice. We ordered the reef and beef, nachos, a pizza and the kids’ chicken nuggets and chips. The portions were generous, and the steak in the reef and beef was cooked to perfection.
When we say it’s family friendly, that also includes your furry best friend. Yes, it’s dog friendly too.
Landing 7 has managed to create one of the best restaurant and playground combinations we’ve visited. Great food, a welcoming atmosphere, an amazing playground and beautiful surroundings make it an easy recommendation for families. We will certainly be back.
