Pyramid Playtime is a wonderful morning event tailored specifically for children under 5 and their care-givers. Held in conjunction with Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition, this event offers a perfect blend of interactive play, educational pop-up talks, and sensory experiences.
The Pyramid Play area is conveniently located on Level 1 where you will be greeted by a “friendly” Carnotaurus and lovely museum staff who will guide you on parent facilities and the types of activities that are available for your little ones and you.
Your little ones will have fun with all the engaging activities that are designed to entertain and introduce children to the fascinating world of ancient Egypt through interactive play and stories led by knowledgeable education staff.
My little one really enjoyed the pyramid building with the use of kinetic sand and boxes.
The play area also caters to infants, with designated space for tummy time and age-appropriate toys, ensuring that even the youngest visitors can participate. It was nice to see a parents’ group making use of this event as a great stress-free outing.
What we loved about this program most, is that it allows for flexible exploration between play and the exhibition. After some play we were invited to join the short 10-minute pop up talks where the adults get a chance to emerse themselves into Ancient Egyptian history whilst having the flexibility to return back to the play area or continue on with the exhibit depending on your needs.
Pyramid Playtime offers an unforgettable journey into the past. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to embark on an adventure with your little pharaohs.
