Kids love a good scooter and bike park! Children get to practise their riding in a safe environment. Many have great features such as simulated roads with stop signs and petrol pumps. Great for imaginative play! Plus you can start teaching some bike safety skills. Others are more challenging with pump tracks and jumps.
In addition, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee on the way. Don’t forget your reusable coffee mug! 😉

The City of Gosnells has unveiled its latest inclusive play space at Sutherlands Park in Huntingdale. This exciting development marks the first completed project of the Sutherlands Park Master Plan, with a Youth Entertainment Space still to come. Highland Range, nestled in the foothills of the Darling Ranges and surrounded by nature, is a new estate in Jane Brook with a brand new playground! Jackadder Lake Reserve is a lovely family park ideal for a morning or afternoon of fun play and scooting/cycling around the beautiful lake and spotting the wildlife. The playground is suitable for kids of all age and is set in a mixture of sand and soft play flooring. The brilliant Madox Playground and Pumptrack in Forrestdale has a smaller bowl than you’d usually find at a skate park – perfect for beginners – as well as a great little playground. After years of petitions and Council meetings driven by local youth, the Cottesloe Skate Park & Pump Track has finally opened its doors. Neil Hawkins Park in Joondalup is a park more suited to the under 5’s. The playground is partially enclosed and is quite compact and easy to keep track of little ones. It features play equipment in the guise of a train engine and its carriages with each carriage providing a different feature. The train engine houses a small slide which is great for crawlers and early walkers. Pitstop Playground is located at Discovery Park, Banksia Grove and it’s pretty special – in fact I’ve not seen anything like it! The central theme of Pitstop Playgrounds, if you haven’t already guessed it, is racing. It has a great racing track that twists and turns around the park complete with Pitstop area where you can chalk your names up on the blackboards and race each other. G.O. Edwards Park on Burswood Road has recently had continued to have improvements and additions since the new playground opened in May 2018. The playground is now a nice mix of traditional playground equipment and nature play, more recent additions include exercise stops and a fenced dog park. Around the corner from the well-known Jungle Park in the Swan Valley, a brand-new park has been constructed and is now open for play. The 1.4 hectare Honeycomb park, located in Peet’s Brabham Estate, features a bee theme and 6-metre ‘honeycomb’ play structure What a great park! The Village at Wellard Playground offers something for all ages! There is 7m rope climbing frame they can come down the slide at the middle or keep climbing to the 2 stories above. Britannia Reserve Pump Track Britannia Reserve Pump Track is a 1.2km pump track and nature bike trail in Leederville. Close to the city, it’s a great spot to take active kids of all ages out riding. Britannia Reserve Pump Track was originally installed as part of a Pop-Up Play initiative in April 2019. It has quickly become a permanent fixture. Britannia Reserve is one of City of Vincent’s largest open parklands. The pump track was created using natural materials. Botany Park located in Hammond Park has just undergone a fantastic upgrade. It is now toddler-friendly fully fenced with various pool gate entry points. The original playground equipment still exists and features a bumpy slide, rock climbing wall, twisty ladder and swing seats. Dazzle Park is a vibrant and colourful playground located at lluma Estate in Bennett springs. This unusual playground is situated within a hedge maze which we are sure will provide lots of extra fun once it matures. This playground is definitely one for the kids not afraid of heights. Dianella BMX Track As of July 2021, Dianella Regional Open Space now features a stunning new BMX track. Dianella BMX Track is naturally shaded and the perfect spot for kids of all ages to race off some energy. Stage One and Stage Two of the new track, built by City of Stirling, was completed in July. There are four bike tracks, plus a trainer track, mini track, intermediate track and advanced track – meaning there is a level to suit everyone here. Set in reclaimed parkland alongside Railway Street in Cottesloe, you can find a one of Perth’s newest nature playgrounds, East Cottesloe Nature Play Trail. Including a scooter track, a fenced toddler park and wooden climbing equipment, this nature playground has something to suit kids from tiny tots to teens. When driving to the Great Southern town of Albany, we took a little detour off Albany Highway to visit the NEW Hotham River Foreshore Adventure Play Park in Boddington. Found on the banks of the Hotham River, the fantastic playground truly has something for kids of all ages, as well as providing a welcome rest stop for a picnic.
