Perth’s northern suburbs have a fun-tastic destination for outdoor play with the opening of Gumnut Park in Sinagra (July 2026). In my opinion, there’s not enough large playgrounds in this area, so this is a very welcome addition. This spot is a total gem for the climbers and the riders in your tribe! The star of the show at this small but mighty suburban spot is definitely the pump track. In early 2026, an impressive $1.3m upgrade to Whitfords West Park brought a new pump and jump track to the northern ‘burbs. Found opposite Westfield Whitfords shopping centre, there’s plenty of fun to be had on two wheels, plus there’s a flying fox and playground to cover all bases. The three tracks features a circuit of rollers, berms and jumps for BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters, catering to riders of all ages and skill levels. Mundaring Community Sculpture Park is a beautiful family-friendly destination in the Perth Hills. Set on the site of the former Mundaring Railway Station and right beside the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, it makes a great spot for a picnic. Located on Jacoby Street opposite the tasty Mundaring Hotel, the park has plenty of free parking along the roadside. The updated playground at Beatty Park Reserve in North Perth is a fantastic addition for local families to enjoy, especially when paired with a visit to Beatty Park Leisure Centre. This coastal bush-themed playground is designed for children aged 0-12, with 18 different activities including a 25m sky rider, multi-play unit with tunnel, poles, monkey bars, spider web, turbo slide and sand play zone all within the play space. A fresh new play space has opened in the heart of Subiaco, and 1909 Subi East Play Space is already proving to be a lovely spot for families to explore.
