Perth’s northern suburbs have a fun-tastic destination for outdoor play with the opening of Gumnut Park in Sinagra (July 2026). In my opinion, there’s not enough large playgrounds in this area, so this is a very welcome addition. In early 2026, an impressive $1.3m upgrade to Whitfords West Park brought a new pump and jump track to the northern ‘burbs. Found opposite Westfield Whitfords shopping centre, there’s plenty of fun to be had on two wheels, plus there’s a flying fox and playground to cover all bases. The three tracks features a circuit of rollers, berms and jumps for BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters, catering to riders of all ages and skill levels. Mundaring Community Sculpture Park is a beautiful family-friendly destination in the Perth Hills. Set on the site of the former Mundaring Railway Station and right beside the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, it makes a great spot for a picnic.
