Beatty Park Reserve

The updated playground at Beatty Park Reserve in North Perth is a fantastic addition for local families to enjoy, especially when paired with a visit to Beatty Park Leisure Centre. This coastal bush-themed playground is designed for children aged 0-12, with 18 different activities including a 25m sky rider, multi-play unit with tunnel, poles, monkey bars, spider web, turbo slide and sand play zone all within the play space.

This toddler-friendly playground consists of a mixture of rubber soft fall and sand surfaces, with plenty of climbing opportunities and imaginative play elements, making it easy for children to stay engaged for longer.

Younger toddlers will especially love the coastal bush-themed story play panel and sand play table.

There is also a Lorikeet rocker for them to enjoy.

Older children can challenge themselves with a workout on the multi-play unit’s monkey bar, spider web, and fireman pole.

The highlight has to be the long sky rider (flying fox), which is guaranteed to be one of the first things older children make a beeline for! As a parent, I really appreciate the thoughtful layout here as the flying fox has its own dedicated space, separated from the main play area by a barrier, making it much safer for younger children.

Children can also enjoy the triple swings set with a nest swing and toddler swing.

Beyond the playground itself, Beatty Park Reserve has wide open grassy areas that is perfect for footy, running around or enjoying a picnic. As the playground is only shaded by surrounding mature trees, do make sure to have sun protection on, and dogs are welcome on the reserve with a lead. Adults can also use the nearby fitness equipment for a quick workout while keeping an eye on the kids as they play.

This playground is just directly opposite Beatty Park Leisure Centre, making it easy to turn this into a full morning or afternoon day out after a swim. New toilet blocks in the reserve are currently building with the nearest toilets located inside Beatty Park Leisure Centre for now. There are ample parking spaces located at the Leisure Centre, and you can also find a café there for your takeaway coffee.
