Cannington Leisureplex Play Centre is a bright, compact indoor Playground designed especially for little ones aged 0 to 8 years. It’s set just outside the main Leisureplex complex, in the same area as the crèche, which makes it easy to find and handy if you’re also using other facilities at the centre.
The Play Centre itself is thoughtfully laid out over two levels, with a good range of soft play and climbing equipment that’s exciting without being overwhelming for younger children. There are two slides, a mini flying fox and a ball pit that are always popular, plus a special area just for tiny tots so babies and less confident walkers can play safely away from the bigger kids.
One of the best features is how easy it is to supervise. The main play structure is fully enclosed, with a parent viewing zone just outside. Tables and chairs are set up around the outside of the play area, giving you a clear view of the kids while you enjoy a coffee or chat with friends.
If you prefer to be more hands-on, there are lockers for bags and shoes and bench seating inside the play space, so you can join your children on the equipment without juggling your belongings.
Practicalities are well covered. There is a set of unisex toilets within the Kids Gym area, including change table facilities, which is very handy with little ones who need quick dashes to the bathroom. The whole space feels clean, safe and purpose-built for early childhood play.
Food and drink rules are a little different to many play centres, so it’s worth noting. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the play area itself, but you can enjoy snacks and drinks in the parent zone just outside the equipment. There is also Epica Café within the Leisureplex where you can grab coffee, cold drinks and light snacks before or after your play session. You can bring your own food to eat in the designated parent area, making it an easy option for a morning playdate.
The Play Centre operates on set morning hours and is aimed squarely at younger families, making it ideal for a morning outing with toddlers and kindy-age kids. It’s open Monday to Friday, 9am to 12 noon, and closed on weekends and public holidays. Entry is $7.00 per child, with free entry for children under 1 year of age, which makes it a relatively affordable option for a few hours of active indoor play.
To keep everyone safe and happy, the Play Centre has clear rules in place. Parents and carers must supervise their children at all times, and everyone using the equipment must wear socks – so don’t forget to pack a pair for both kids and adults who plan to go inside the play zone. Shoes come off at the entrance and jewellery or sharp objects should be removed before play. Children are expected to use only the age-appropriate areas, stay off the outside of the equipment, and keep balls in the ball pit and soft toys in the toddler area. Personal toys aren’t allowed on the equipment, and families are asked to keep sick children at home. Any accidents or injuries should be reported to staff straight away.

Parties make use of the play equipment and Leisureplex facilities, and bookings are managed through the City of Canning’s party booking system.
