Hi-Voltage in Belmont is a huge all‑weather family entertainment hub that’s perfect for big kids, tweens and teens who love a bit of adrenaline. Located just off Great Eastern Highway, this multi-level indoor venue combines electric go-karts, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, a full play centre, café and bar, and function spaces, making it very easy to spend a few hours (or more) under one roof. It’s especially handy on scorching summer days or when the weather turns wet and windy, with everything indoors and air‑conditioned.
The electric go-karting is the star attraction and is home to WA’s largest indoor circuit, stretching over 350 metres and set within a 3500sqm space, with a generous 7-metre-wide track so there’s plenty of room to overtake. Sessions begin with a safety briefing before drivers head out for around 10 minutes of track time. There are single karts, tandem/duo karts for a driver and passenger, and dedicated Junior Karts for ages 7–11, which are WA’s only indoor electric junior karts. The electric motors mean lots of torque and speed without fumes and with less noise than petrol karts – great for kids who might be sensitive to strong smells or loud engines. Height and age limits apply (juniors from 7+ years, seniors from 12+ and 147cm), so it’s worth checking the requirements before you book.
Upstairs, the glow mini golf is a big hit for families and groups. Designed and built in Canada, there are two themed 9‑hole courses – Circus and Speed – both lit with colourful UV artwork and interactive elements.
The Speed course continues the motorsport vibe with bright murals, obstacles and even a full 360‑degree loop to try and putt through, which can be surprisingly tricky.
The Circus course is packed with fun features including a big top, cannon, lion, giant popcorn and a moving Ferris wheel, with lots of sound and light effects. Kids aged 5 and over can join in, making mini golf a great option if you’ve got younger siblings who are too small for karting but still want to feel part of the action.
The play centre means Hi-Voltage works well for families with a mix of ages. The multi-level play area includes a toddler zone and kids’ zone, plus an interactive games room with more than 30 games and an interactive ball wall. Younger children can burn off energy in the soft play, while older siblings race or play mini golf, or you can reward a karting session with some climbing and sliding afterwards. It’s also a great backup if someone in your group decides the track feels a bit too intimidating on the day.
Hi-Voltage has positioned itself as a go-to venue for parties and group events. There are party packages built around go karting, glow mini golf, the play centre, or combinations of these, with dedicated party rooms, kids’ food options and the chance to tailor a celebration to your child’s age and interests.
The café and bar go beyond basic snacks and soft drinks. You can grab coffees, cold drinks and a selection of café-style treats, while the licensed bar serves beer, cider, wine and premix options for adults once the helmets are off. This makes it easy to settle in for a longer stay, as you don’t need to leave the venue to feed hungry kids between sessions. Seating around the café area has large windows overlooking the track, so even those not participating can feel part of the fun.
Hi-Voltage encourages online bookings for go karting and mini golf, and it’s definitely wise to lock in a time, particularly on weekends, school holidays and wet-weather days when it can get very busy. Online booking helps minimise waiting around with restless kids, and you can also check session times and any special deals. They operate seven days a week, generally from mid-morning until late evening, giving flexibility for after-school outings, school holiday treats or evening sessions with older kids and teens.
