Carine Open Space is one of our local and favourite parks to head to on the weekend as there are oodles to do and see. We usually spend a few hours there if it’s nice weather and take the kids scooters/bikes and the dog. ย This is a big favourite for dog walkers on the weekend and they sometimes have organised sporting comps on at the weekend so it can get busy at peak times. The Esplanade Youth Plaza in Fremantle is a family-friendly, inner-city hangout located at the southeastern corner of Fremantleโs Esplanade Reserve. ย Costing $1.6million to develop, the Plaza opened in April 2014. The Eden Beach Lookout and Playspace is a brand new section of Eden Beach estate in Jindalee has just opened (Dec 2021) and itโs great for the older kids! Featuring a basketball court, rock climbing wall, parkour, skate/scooter ramps and a huge grassy area itโs a beautiful spot to spend a few hours. Lathlain Park is found to the north of Mineral Resources Park โ aka the home of the mighty West Coast Eagles! The popular Mills Park facility has recently opened a new all-abilities playground near the bbqs and grassed area. This new edition to the existing Mills Park Playspace and Skate Plaza is fully fenced and double gated which is also great for younger children. In the heart of Armadale, you will find Memorial Park. As of September 2018, the City of Armadale has reopened the park with a new train theme, which is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages! Mandurahโs newest playground, Koolaanga Waabiny, is nothing short of EPIC! Koolaanga Waabiny Playground is the latest addition to the redevelopment of Mandurahโs Western Foreshore, which also includes the construction of the Mandurah Skate Park which opened in 2020, a new toilet block facility and the meeting place artwork which were both completed in 2021. The park sits within the confines of the showgrounds, meaning it is secure for little runaways!
