The large park includes two playgrounds, the new-ish Port Kennedy skate park and a memorial dedicated to our war veterans.     The Edge Skate Park, Calista

    

    The impressive $1.5m The Edge Skatepark Calista is one of WA’s biggest skating facilities. The skatepark’s main features are a competition-level bowl, street section, beginner’s area (great for little ones on scooters), parkour obstacles and a basketball half-court.     Whitfords West Park, Kallaroo

    

    In early 2026, an impressive $1.3m upgrade to Whitfords West Park brought a new pump and jump track to the northern ‘burbs. Found opposite Westfield Whitfords shopping centre, there’s plenty of fun to be had on two wheels, plus there’s a flying fox and playground to cover all bases. The three tracks features a circuit of rollers, berms and jumps for BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters, catering to riders of all ages and skill levels.     Jackadder Lake Playground, Woodlands

    

    Jackadder Lake Playground is a picturesque park just north west of the city. Found in the Perth Hills foothills, it’s close to bush trails for a pre- or post-play wander.     Set in reclaimed parkland alongside Railway Street in Cottesloe, you can find a one of Perth’s newest nature playgrounds, East Cottesloe Nature Play Trail. Including a scooter track, a fenced toddler park and wooden climbing equipment, this nature playground has something to suit kids from tiny tots to teens.  Opening in September 2023, this new nature trail replaces an older pre-existing playground, known as the Purple Dinosaur Park.
