The impressive $1.5m The Edge Skatepark Calista is one of WA’s biggest skating facilities. The skatepark’s main features are a competition-level bowl, street section, beginner’s area (great for little ones on scooters), parkour obstacles and a basketball half-court.
Skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes and even rollerblades are welcome. The big skate park is large enough to still ensure plenty of room to ride. There is a mix of younger children on scooters, as well as teens on their skateboards. The various skating zones allow kids of all ages and skill levels to enjoy this inclusive space.
The main features include:
- a competition-level bowl
- beginners’ area
- street area
- jumps run
- half pipe
Plus, if the kids have a bingle, they can fix it at the bike and skateboard repair station. Be sure to take a ball along, and make use of the basketball half court.
There’s a small parkour area for little monkeys too.
There’s plenty of open grassed area to have a kick about on the neighboring Calista Oval.  If your kids love a playground too, just over the oval is the fantastic Kwinana Adventure Park.
There are covered seating areas for parents and kids to have a break from the sun and watch. Drink fountains are also handy inclusions. The Edge Skate Park is a great spot for children to scoot and skate for hours.
Find The Edge Skate Park at Gilmore Avenue, Calista.
