If you’re looking for a quieter park for a play, Grindleford Reserve in Balcatta may fit the bill. It has natural shade from large trees, as well as shade sails. The playground here has been recently replaced with brand new equipment and fresh white sand. It’s set well back from the road, with a small car park in between, so should be safe for little wanderers. Not far from Northlands Shopping Centre in Balcatta is a leafy park, Rickman Delawney Reserve. In the middle of the reserve, we found a good sized playground suitable for kids of all ages. It has lots of open space around it for running about and the playground is shaded by shade sails. The main play structure features two slides, one straight and one twisty, as well as a flying fox and lots of climbing ladders. Just off of Main Street in Balcatta is Conway Reserve, a bright, colourful playground surrounded by a grassy park. Conway Reserve is partially fenced with a path running from Harrison Street to Archibald Street, and a large grassed area for ball games or exercising the dog. The playground structure features two slides of different sizes, climbing ladders, a fireman pole, a tunnel and a bridge.
