The Elizabeth Quay Carousel, installed in December 2016, brings a piece of European tradition to Perth’s waterfront. Built in Italy and imported to Perth, this traditional Venetian carousel took four months to construct and has become a popular attraction for both locals and tourists.
Background
The project was initiated by Rohan Milne of Rohan Jewellers, who was inspired after seeing a similar carousel in San Sebastian, Spain. The carousel was built by the same Italian company that created the carousel at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, ensuring authentic craftsmanship and quality.

The carousel includes:
- Over a dozen horses with unique positions and colours
- Hand-painted Italian scenes on the blue and white canopy
- Modern safety features including adjustable belts and solid stirrups
- Real hair tails and decorative elements on each horse
- Bench seating options for those not riding horses
- Traditional carousel music
- LED lighting for evening operation

- Single ride: $8 per person
- Three rides: $20
- Children under 1.1m ride free with a paying adult (one child per adult)
- Public holiday surcharge applies
- Tickets available from the carousel ticket booth
- Credit card and EFTPOS payments accepted

- Suitable for ages 1 and up
- Riders under 1.1m must be accompanied by an adult
- Ride duration: 3-4 minutes
