This hip little spot for families, Laika Coffee, is one of my personal favourites for breakfast in Perth’s south. There’s great coffee, a delicious brunch menu (for kids too), a basketball half-court and grassed area, with plenty of seating and room for strollers. Baby change facilities are also available. The Little Banksia, Kensington

Moore & Moore, Fremantle
Moore & Moore Cafรฉ is in a fab location, just a stoneโs throw from Esplanade Park, and the Cappuccino strip. The rustic warehouse is very Freo and the food is excellent. For the kiddies thereโs not one but two areas in the back courtyard where they can play. Thereโs an Astroturfed kidโs corner for toddlers thatโs full of toys. 8 Yolks, Success & Belmont
8 Yolks Cafรฉ has not one, but two egg-selent brunch spots in Perth’s south. The bright and sunny Success cafรฉ has a fun colour scheme, incorporating a favourite brunch component โ runny egg. Tree of Life, Mandurah
The Tree of Life Cafe is a lovely little spot for brunch and has to have one of the Best Breakfasts in the Mandurah area. There is a kids play area complete with a gorgeous cubby house and chalkboard. The play area is separated by glass doors, so you can enjoy a coffee and watch the kids from inside, without the noise! The Roastery, Canning Vale
The Roastery is found at Essence of Coffee, a local coffee roaster. The large, open warehouse-style cafรฉ is popular with families. The kidโs cafรฉ play corner makes will keep budding baristas busy. Zephyr Cafe. East Fremantle
If you love a coffee by a great playground or a family brunch with a water view, Zephyr Cafรฉ is worth a visit. Found on the banks of the Swan River, there are plenty of tables inside and out. The leafy garden area at Cafe Mojo has a corner set up for children to play. This includes a sand play area with a little kitchen and some cooking equipment, stepping and balancing logs and a hidden fairy garden. Embers, Gooseberry Hill
Embers in Gooseberry Hill has been a Perth Hills stalwart for well over a decade. The cosy restaurant is particularly well known for its delicious gourmet wood-fired pizzas. But they also serve up a brilliant brunch. We sat in the closed-in (dog friendly) veranda area, with rustic stone tables. For kids, there’s a menu (the pancakes ae yummy!) and coloring packs too.
