Whiteman Park Tram

Take a nostalgic journey through Whiteman Park on Perth’s only operating heritage electric tram! The vintage tram service offers a unique way to explore the park’s beautiful bushland setting while learning about its fascinating history, and now it’s even more accessible with the opening of the new Entrance tram stop, conveniently located next to the Metronet Ellenbrook Line station.

The 4km journey takes approximately 30 minutes and follows a dedicated tramway through the park. Keep the kids entertained by spotting native wildlife along the way – you might see kangaroos, birds and other animals in their natural habitat. The tram makes regular stops at Village, Entrance, Mussel Pool, Pia’s Place, and Village Junction.

Friendly volunteer drivers share interesting commentary about the park’s history and features during your ride. The trams themselves are pieces of history, with some dating back to the early 1900s when they operated on Perth’s original tram network.

The best news for families? As of December 8, 2024, tram rides are completely FREE for 12 months! This makes it the perfect opportunity to experience this unique heritage attraction multiple times throughout the year.

Public Transport Connection:
Planning to arrive by train? The new Morley-Ellenbrook line makes it easy to visit Whiteman Park. For the best experience, aim to arrive at Whiteman Park Station just before 11:00am to catch the first tram connection at 11:10am from the Entrance stop. This will take you directly to the Village where most attractions are located. Please note that tram services may be cancelled during fire bans or extreme heat conditions, so it’s worth checking ahead on very hot days.
