This little gem has it all. After stumbling across ‘The 5 four Store’ in Bassendean I was presently surprised with not only the large space but how wonderfully set up the place is, because who doesn’t love the mismatched vintage look.
Upon entering the café, you can see that it has a very relaxed atmosphere, with no loud over baring music, and enough room to manoeuvre prams around (or in my case a double side-by-side pram). There are plenty of tables to pick from, as well as two comfortable couch areas.
They supply all the usual coffee needs and a variety of non-coffee options (a range of alternative milk is also available), and for the little ones they have the very reasonably priced babyccinos with a marshmallow for only $1. On offer to eat was a selection of lighter options, such as freshly made gourmet rolls, croissants, salads, breakfast wraps and bagels. But if it’s a sweet treat you are after they offer a selection of slices, cakes, cookies and little mini cupcakes for the kids.
Not forgetting the best part of the café is the kid’s corner! Located at the back corner of the café they have set up a great little spot for parents with kids to sit and relax/ catch up with each other while the little ones play. On offer are plenty of toys, a kids play kitchen, a large chalkboard, and some books (as well as another book wall filled with children’s books on the other side of the seating area).
They also have so much on offer to buy (the list is extensive so will only mention a few things), some beautiful kid’s and ladies’ clothes, a variety of plants, gifts/homewares of all sorts from books, creams, bags, bees wax wraps, teapot sets and everything in between, there is also a range of grocery items. So, add this one to the list for the next time you’re in the area.
