Choo-choo – Jump on the sushi train! I’ve never been to Karrinyup and NOT seen a queue lining for Super Tetsudo. This hugely popular family-friendly sushi restaurant (which is also found at Carousel and Claremont) is a must try. Super Tetsudo was the first restaurant in the whole country to combine a traditional kaiten sushi train with a state of the art, super-fast express train (like a bullet train!) to bring authentic Japanese cuisine direct to your table.
You’ll be greeted with a loud “Irasshaimase”, a traditional Japanese welcome, from the team. The vibrant decor really pops, and there’s plenty of cosy booth seating in the bustling restaurant.
Kids will be mesmerised by an ACTUAL sushi train and will have a great time watching the plates of sushi go around, and around.
There’s even a robo waiter to bring dishes to your table!
They also offer a range of more substantial dishes available to order via the tablet. The a la carte menu offers traditional Japanese grill, soup, noodle and rice dishes, alongside Super Tetsudo’s own modern-Japanese interpretations like their sushi tacos.
If you’re a newbie to a sushi train, it’s SO easy! All you need to do is select your desired dishes from the train and start eating. The big hits on our table were the katsu chicken and avo rolls, as well as the salmon and avo rolls!
Edaname beans are always a go-to healthy snack.
Each plate is colour coded which relates to the price of the dish. At the end of your meal, a member of the team will come along and count your plates and present you with the bill.
We really enjoyed our visit to Super Tetsudo. The fresh food is so tasty – we’ll definitely return for more! It’s worth queuing for.
Super Tetsudo is open for dine-in and takeaway. Find it at the new Karrinyup Dining Hub, just behind Dandelion, with plenty of convenient car parking available.
