In the city and looking for a casual feed? Easy, tasty and guaranteed to keep everyone happy, Hello Harry at Elizabeth Quay serves up burgers, fries and front-row waterfront vibes. Set in one of Perth’s most family-friendly precincts, this casual burger spot makes a handy pit stop before, or after, a wander along the foreshore. Elizabeth Quay is already a go-to for families thanks to the playground, Venetian Carousel, public art and summertime fun of the water playground.

The menu is built for broad appeal, with stacked burgers, tacos, wraps, salads, sides and shakes that make it an easy pick. Mt H and I both had beef burgers, mine in a GF bun. I enjoyed the ‘Big Kahuna’ with smashed beef, mayo, grilled pineapple, tomato, crispy bacon, cos lettuce, BBQ glaze.

Mr H liked the “USA” burger: smashed beef patty, house-made onion rings, cheese, crispy bacon, pickles, American mustard, house tomato jam, mayo. He did mention, and I’d agree that HH isn’t quite up there with the best burgers in Perth (you know, BadLove, Hoodburger, Shortorder etc), but it was good for a convenient option. I’d love to see more cheese and sauce on the burgers.

The kids are usually just happy to see something familiar and fast arrive at the table. Particularly Miss M, who does love her fries! JMan chose a regular-sized burger (kid size won’t cut it for this 11-year-old), while Lulu enjoyed the chicken nuggets from the kids menu (jnr burger, chicken burger or nuggs – all with fries and a pop top).

Afterwards, if you have the stomach space, treat yourself to something sweet at Baskin and Robbins, Gusto Gelato or the lolly shop next door.

If you’re planning a city day with kids and find yourself at the quay, Hello Harry is an easy addition to the itinerary. Burgers by the water, and plenty to do nearby in one of Perth’s prettiest family-friendly settings – too easy.
