Splash Island

Splash Island Water Themed Amusement Park is returning to Sorrento Quay Boardwalk these school holidays! Come down and join in on the fun. There will be water-based bumper cars, water slides and more! The amusements range from $6-9 dollars each and suitable for children 2-12 years old.

Mer-Jestic Mermaids & Pirate

We have officially set the dates for the return of our Mer-jestic Mermaids, and this year they’re bringing their friend- Pirate Pete!

Be enchanted with the swimming mermaids in Adventure Bay and get your mermaid makeup done, all whilst Pirate Pete entertains you with his piratey antics.

Ningaloo Dome Experience

Jump aboard the mini-submarine Odyssea as it explores one of the greatest mega reefs on the planet – Ningaloo Reef!

Our 180-degree dome theatre will take you on an immersive, underwater tour of one of one of Western Australia’s greatest natural wonders.

Witness this unique and diverse ecosystem, including the annual mass coral spawning and the interconnected arrival of the biggest population of whale sharks.

This world premiere experience opens Friday 28 December at the WA Maritime Museum.

Summer Series Movie Festival: Cool Runnings

The Summer Series Movie Festival is back!

Music in the Park returns to local parks within the City of Joondalup in 2019! Pack a picnic and bring family and friends along to enjoy a warm summer’s night with live music from talented Australian musicians PLUS free activities to entertain the kids. Food is also available for purchase from a series of delicious vendors.

The first of the two FREE concerts kicks off on Saturday 12 January at Falkland Park, Kinross. Performing on the evening are soul-soaked Brisbane locals Cheap Fakes along with a 60s sound, Jamaican inspired performance by The Isolites.

BYO picnic from 5.00pm. Music starts at 6.00pm.

Skateboarding Clinic and Competition

Join the crew from Skateboarding WA for a day of a morning of coaching from 10am – 12pm.

Then the Skateboarding WA State Championships Competition will kick off with registrations from 12pm. This competition is open to riders all skill levels, with awesome prizes from Momentum Skate.

Finalists will be invited to compete at the State Championship Final in April.

Nature Photography for the Family – Nearer to Nature

Learn how to capture a moment in nature with our professional guide. Parents can head out with their own cameras and learn how to use different techniques to enhance your photos, while the kids can go crazy and have fun using basic cameras to find their special moment. Moominpappa At Sea

Moominpappa at Sea follows the plucky Moomin family as they begin an exciting new life on a rocky island far out to sea. Each family member embarks on an adventure – encountering the island’s mysterious inhabitants and discovering their own sense of place.

From the rumblings of the ocean to the squawks of seabirds, an atmospheric soundscape will transport you to the remote island world of the Moomintrolls brought to life by solo performer, Michael Barlow. Skateboarding Beginners Clinic – Freo Youth

Beginners clinic hosted by City of Fremantle and facilitated by Skateboarding WA. This clinic is for young people aged 5 years + who are looking to learn how to be confident skateboarding. The clinic will also run through skatepark etiquette which is useful information for parents to learn to encourage ongoing safe use when not at a clinic. All materials: skateboards, helmets and protective gear will be provided.

The City of Rockingham Youth Beach Party is back in January 2019!

This year we are headed to Bell Park with waterslides on the grass, tropical beats by DJ Jeremy Tucker, beanbags to chill, slushies, henna tattoos, hamburgers and heaps more!

The event is totally free, no ticket required just pick up your event wrist band on entry.

For young people aged 12-18 years old. This alcohol free event will be supported by City staff, youth workers and contracted security guards. Bags will be checked on entry.

Puppet In The Park – Summer School Holidays

We will have a fantastical pop up puppet making station in Pioneer Park directly in front of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre from 9am – 3pm on Saturday 19 & 26 January and Saturday 2 February 2019!

We will have a selection of fun materials for you to create your very own hand puppet and will have experienced tutors who will be there to show you all the tricks of the puppet making trade!

Kalamunda Garden Festival

The Kalamunda Garden Festival is a seasonal gardening festival, taking place in spring, summer, autumn and winter, offering relevant and actionable advice to festival goers. It is a celebration of gardening and sustainable gardening practices.

Taking place in the Kalamunda Town Centre (off Barber Street), the garden festival is a free event for everyone to enjoy. There will be over 35 gardening-related stalls, in addition to displays and demonstrations and heaps of free gardening activities for children.

We have loads of special guest speakers in the town hall; Neville Passmore, Sabrina Hahn, Deryn Thorpe and Steve Wood. Deryn and Steve will record an episode of their podcast ‘All The Dirt’ at the garden festival too. All the guest speakers will also visit an outdoor marquee where they’ll do a ‘meet and greet’ with festival goers.

Musical entertainment will feature Courtney Murphy from 9am – 12 noon, then the Mucky Duck Bush Band from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. The musicians perform on the back of a beautiful 46 Chev truck.

Cale Street Festival – Hosted by Midland Gate

Marine Scientist for a Day

This new 3 hour kids program is perfect for those passionate about marine animals and ocean conservation. A ‘Marine Scientist for a Day’ will fuel their wonder for the underwater world. This unique experience includes lunch, animal feeding, slime and heaps more!

The 5k Foam Fest

The 5K Foam Fest is a one of kind obstacle course based fun run. Join us for 22+ obstacles including the world’s largest inflatable waterslide, mud pits and 2.5 MILLION cubic feet of foam! Rock out all day to 12,000 watts of awesome music, enjoy a FREE kids zone for kids 7 and under, delicious food, great vendors and beer gardens. With a variety obstacles and a ton of foam the run is an exciting challenge for experienced and beginner runners alike. The 5K Foam Fest is not a hardcore run it is a FUNCORE run. GET FILTHY CLEAN!

On top of getting to run the funnest 5K of the year, you will receive a runner’s bib, Foam Fest tattoo, 5K Foam Fest beach towel & finisher’s medal along with access to the festival area, free kids zone, and free event photos for download.

Rock, Rattle and Roll Festival 2019

This event is a festival of nostalgia. 1950’s through to the 60’s through music, fashion & rides of all descriptions. Held annually with part proceeds to a chosen beneficiary in Western Australia.

To be held at Victoria Quay Fremantle with the The Vintage Collective Markets Perth Western Australia showcasing vintage and rockabilly vendors, inside the iconic Fremantle B-Shed. Food and beverage services will be on the waters edge so you can enjoy the stunning sunset and water views.
Our iconic All Wheel Show’N’Shine will be hosted around the venue with an INVITATIONAL static display along side a rolling show and shine to be held on Sunday the 27th January.
VCMPerth Events has been working hard on securing the venue to meet the needs of this unique one of a kind event.
The Vintage Collective Markets Perth Western Australia will again curate the content of this event with the Kool Katz you love from right here in WA, indoors in Bshed.
V.I.P artists, Fashion shows, Pinup contest, Armed forces radio broadcast (1950’s) vendors and All Wheel Show’n’Shine. Complementing, tattoo displays, artists, free activities, workshops and demonstrations of skills and trades of a bygone era
Licensed bar and Food zone (outdoors) will also be incorporated.

Train Rides and Family Fun Day

Stirling Miniature Railway, 8 Vasto Place, Balcatta

We are holding a TRAIN RIDES AND A FAMILY FUN DAY ON SUNDAY THE 27th January 2019 AT VASTO PLACE BALCATTA, from 10 am until 2 pm. Eftpos, Picnic, barbecue, toilet and disabled facilities available. $10 per person or $40 per family (two adults and up to 4 children) under 3’s ride free. Tickets available at the door. Closed in shoes must be worn and feet must be kept on the train foot boards for safety. Unlimited lovely train rides, for your little Thomas the Tank Engine Fans! The trains are being polished and steamed up just for you and your little engine drivers. Add to the fun with a big party by telling all your friends about our secret train hideaway too. So come down for some family fun at Stirling Miniature Railway. We big kids are steaming up the trains at 10am until 2pm. Ride the trains with your tots as many times as you like. Maybe you could bring a picnic, or pack a barbecue or buy a delicious drink or ice cream at the kiosk. Our events run come rain or shine and there is plenty of cover from sun or showers. All of the big kids at the Club are looking forward to seeing you there. Hey – we just can’t get enough of playing with trains!

Aussie Play Day

As part of the Australia Day Long Weekend, celebrate Australia’s diverse culture with a family fun day in the historic Cathedral Square. The FREE event will feature craft activities, live music and dance workshops.

Explore the community village and get creative in cubby house themed to nations from around the globe. Children can also interact and learn from international dancers from New Zealand and India.
