Big4 Emu Beach Holiday Park

Big4 Emu Beach Holiday Park Review

We just got back from a 4-night stay at the Big4 Emu Beach holiday park in Albany and had such a great time.

We booked to stay in a 2 bedroom family chalet. The chalet itself was comfortable and large enough for the four of us. One bedroom had two sets of bunk beds and the other had a double bed. The lounge area had a 3 seater couch and single-seater chair and the dining area had a 6 seater table. Our chalet also had a full kitchen.

Unfortunately, we struck bad luck with the location of the chalet – we were located straight inside the entrance to the park and away from the rest of the chalets. This was a problem for a couple of reasons – 1. we were travelling with friends and had previously contacted the park and was advised we would be close to each other. and 2. Our chalet was the first building in the park, prior to reception even, this meant the road right outside got busy at check-in and check-out times and it didn’t feel safe to allow the kids the usual freedom they would have on holiday to run ahead of us etc.

The location of the chalet was really the only downfall of the park though so I would just recommend you specify not chalet 24 if staying with younger kids.

The rest of the park is perfect for families with so many free activities!

There’s a very cool ship-themed playground with a mix of nature play and more traditional play. The kids had a great time exploring this playground and getting messy with the sand and water play.

Like all good holiday parks, there is a bouncy pillow which is always a hit! It’s not as big as some other pillows we’ve seen so it did get crowded at busy times but the kids always love a bouncy pillow!

Theres a recreation room next to the bouncy pillow which has table tennis, a pool table and a tv. In the evenings family movies are played in here which was a nice way to wind down after busy days.

The mini-golf course is something different and pretty cool – the kids really enjoyed having a couple of games here.

There’s also a free kids club! We had morning with no plans and it was a rainy day so made use of the kids club. The kids club ran from 9am to 11.30am and they made crafts and simple snacks and played games. All the kids came out happy and saying they had a great time.

The location of the park is really good. Less than 10 minutes from Albany town centre and 3 minutes from Emu Point Cafe which is lovely. There’s even pedal cars you can borrow from the park to ride up to the cafe.

The park is right next to the beach. Even though we didn’t have beach weather during our stay, it was nice to hear the waves and to take rainy walks.

All up we had a great time staying at Big4 Emu Beach holiday park. The location of our cabin wasn’t ideal but everything else was very good and we would happily stay again.
