Found at the tippity top of Albany Highway in Vic Park, Somewhere in the Park is a refreshing family-friendly venue many Perth parents have been craving. This stunning transformation of the former craft beer spot Dutch Trading Co has created a welcoming space that caters to everyone in the family – including the little ones!
Somewhere in the Park has many spaces, a lively cafe-bar at the front (with booths), and mezzanine. The back courtyard is where the families will definitely gravitate to.
I was there sans-kids, for dinner with a couple of fellow mums. There were a few little ones enjoying the covered kids play area which is packed with things to do.ย The garden-themed interior brings the outdoors in with plenty of greenery, natural light, and cute fairy lights. The courtyard is even more insta-worthy with beautiful water features (please keep your eyes on the kids and don’t let them feed the fish).

Plus there’s a fun birdcage table – which is where we enjoyed our dinner and drinks.ย
Parents will appreciate the interactive kids’ play area. Little chefs can create imaginary culinary masterpieces at the “Le Petit Chef”.
Plus, mini picnic tables and cute mushroom stools make snack time fun. There’s also plenty of high chairs for those that want to dine at the big tables.
Older kids will be stoked to find the retro arcade.
Being a bar at heart, their drinks game is good – I was driving, so had this delish margarita mocktail.ย
Open from 7am daily (except Mondays), Somewhere in the Park transitions seamlessly from a bright cafรฉ serving breakfast and brunch to an urban wine bar by night. The kids breakfast menu caters to all tastes with sweet pancakes or scrambled eggs on toast.ย For lunch or dinner, kids can expect a choice of Margherita pizza, tomato sugo pasta or chicken tenders & chips (comes with orange juice box), plus kids ice cream with 100s & 1000s.ย For the adults – you can shar or go it alone. There’s burgers, pizzas to charcoal octopus and ricotta gnocchi. For breakfast, don’t miss their signature breakfast pizza foldie. The three of us shared 4 dishes and a pizza – the highlights being pork belly skewers, croquettes, and Stracciatella cheese with grilled fig (yes, my night protos are rubbish!).ย ย
The venue is proudly pet-friendly tooโso your furry family members are welcome! One thing I will note – it is directly opposite a busy zebra crossing and many cars did not stop – so please watch the kiddos!ย
It’s impressive how the owners have created a space that appeals to everyone without compromising on quality or atmosphere.ย Somewhere in the Park offers the perfect setting for family brunches, casual dinners, or weekend hangs. This spot is truly somewhere special in Victoria Park!
