Once the sun goes down, Perth Zoo comes alive with hundreds of sparkling lanterns, lighting up the pathways and creating a magical atmosphere throughout the Zoo.
It’s such a different experience compared with visiting during the day. Instead of exploring the Zoo in the sunshine, you get to wander through the illuminated displays and see the familiar surroundings completely transformed.
Harvey loved wandering around and seeing everything lit up. For kids, there’s something really exciting about being out at the Zoo after dark, and it definitely made the visit feel like a special adventure.
It’s not just about the lights either! From 5pm, you can enjoy live music on the Main Lawn as well as roaming light-up entertainment throughout the Zoo. The entertainment adds to the atmosphere and gives families plenty to stop and watch as they make their way around the different areas.
We love finding activities that are easy to enjoy as a family, and ZOOlights is a great option for a school holiday outing. You can take your time wandering around, stop whenever the kids want to look at something, enjoy the entertainment and simply soak up the atmosphere.
