If your family is always on the hunt for proper burgers, you know the struggle—overhyped photos, underwhelming reality. Well, Burger Freak in Belmont is the real deal! Located only 5km east of Perth CBD, these handcrafted stunt burgers aren’t just big; they’re MONSTROUS—exactly like the pictures (and yes, that actually matters). They don’t just stack ingredients for show; every bite is packed with flavor, made from scratch, and seriously satisfying.
We went in hungry and left stuffed. For the kids, we ordered chippies and chicken tenders from the Lil’ Critters menu—soft enough that even bubba could dig in. They also offer fruit juice and water, which is great when you don’t want your little tornado bouncing off the walls from a Monsta Shake.
Speaking of shakes, hubby and I took one for the team (of course) and tried Cookies & Scream and Death by Brownie—both thick, decadent, and absolutely worth it.
Now, let’s talk about burgers. I love a good spicy chicken burger, and finding one that actually has a proper zing? Rare. But Burger Freak delivers! If you’re craving a true Zinger-level heat, this is where you’ll find it. The menu is packed with unique flavors, and you can tell real chefs are behind these creations—there’s no boring, generic fast food here.
While there’s no play area or changing table, they do have high chairs, and with Volcano Playground and Tomato Lake nearby, there’s plenty of space for the kids to burn off that post-burger energy (and maybe spy some black swans).
Inside, the mural is a fun distraction—you can play I Spy while waiting for your food.
Burger Freak also sells hot sauces, merch, and other goodies, so if you’re feeling the Freak spirit, you can take a little piece of it home. Walk in, eat up, and embrace the burger madness!
We’ll definitely be back—because once you’ve had a real burger, there’s no turning back!
