Strawberry picking is back at Bullsbrook Strawberry Farm after a three-year break, and the fields are bursting with sweet, juicy fruit. Pick Your Own opens from Thursday 14th August at 263 Old West Road, Bullsbrook, just around the corner from Perthโs Outback Splash. The farm will be open every day from 9am to 5pm until all the fruit has been picked, so get in early for the best berries.

Pricing is simple: itโs $15 per tray, which holds around 4.5kg of strawberries, plus a $2 entry fee per person. Up to five people can share one tray, and youโre welcome to eat as many delicious strawberries as you like while you pick. Thereโs no need to book ahead and EFTPOS is now available, so you donโt have to worry about bringing cash.

A few handy tips before you go: allow about an hour for picking, wear closed-in shoes and clothes you donโt mind getting a bit dirty, and donโt forget a hat and sunscreen. The farm has basic facilities including a portaloo, though thereโs no baby change area, so pack what you need and bring plenty of water. For families with little ones, a baby carrier is usually easier than a pram in the sandy ground.

Donโt let the weather put you offโBullsbrook Strawberry Farm has upgraded, and all picking areas are now under high tunnels, so you can comfortably pick even if thereโs a bit of rain about. Please note that no animals are allowed onsite for food safety reasons.

Parking is available on the verge just outside the farm entrance. Itโs best not to drive into the field itself as the sand can be soft and cars can become stuck. Expect happy, strawberry-stained fingers and faces by the endโthese berries are picked at peak ripeness, so theyโre incredibly sweet and juicy compared to supermarket fruit.
