We always drop by the excellent Margaret River Skate Park whenever we’re in the area. Now, it’s home to a brilliant coffee spot, making the spot even more attractive to the adults too.
WEST Coffee Co sure do make a great flat white! There’s a few tables and chairs around, though it is a fairly casual take away spot. There’s also a limited menu, with favourites like avo toast available to grab and go.
The multi-million dollar Youth Precinct is impressive, and it truly caters for all ages, with a playground, plus skate, scooter and BMX features that cater for kids with beginner to advanced level skills. Younger kids will love to scoot around the winding concrete track which loops the entire skate park.
The precinct is not just for kids on wheels! There’s parkour and play equipment too, making it a destination for kids of all ages.
Plus, a big nature play area to the rear of the park, with balancing logs, climbing ropes, and more elements to keep kiddos amused. A concrete climbing wall will keep little monkeys busy for ages.
There’s a slide, lots of boulders to climb and a sandpit too. Most of the play area in these images are in direct sunlight, though since it opened in 2018, many trees have matured, providing more shade around the precinct.
Other facilities include BBQ areas, spectator seating, public toilets and even a stage area for live music events. There’s a handy tool station too, if you need to repair your riding equipment!
Next time you head to Margaret River with your family, be sure to pack the skateboards and scooters! The Margaret River Skate Park and Youth Precinct is a brilliant cost-free outdoor activity for kids in Margaret River.
