We all know shopping with kids isn’t easy, but the kids will be begging to go to Mandurah Forum’s beach-inspired playground! The state-of-the-art playground is part of the $350 million redevelopment, completed in March 2018 the two fully enclosed play areas are the perfect place to take a break while the kids burn off some energy. The Caterpillar Playground in Mandurah, also known as Milgar Street Reserve, is a much‑loved local favourite, and it’s easy to see why. Tucked just off Park Road with plenty of parking, this colourful, fully fenced Playground makes an ideal spot for families with younger children, especially if you have a “runner” who likes to explore. The Rivergums Adventure Park is a monster inspired nature-based adventure playground and is the perfect place to let your child’s imagination run wild! From the moment my 2 year old spotted the huge monster feet he was roaring with excitement!!! The main feature is the monsters nest climbing tower and a 6-metre high slide – my 8 year old could have stayed and played for hours. Cantwell Park in Pinjarra is a brilliant stop on a road trip to WA’s south west. The massive park is right in the heart of the town, on the banks of the Murray River. We usually grab some freshly baked treats from the yummy Pinjarra Bakery and eat them at the park. You may have passed Cantwell Park and not noticed, as you drove over the South West Highway bridge. Novara Foreshore Reserve in Falcon is a beautiful, family-friendly spot along the estuary that’s ideal for relaxed picnics, a play, and time on the water. Families will find several picnic gazebos dotted along the grassed foreshore, making it easy to set up for a morning or afternoon with friends. There are barbecues close by, so you can bring sausages or burgers and cook while the kids play. Koolaanga Waabiny on Mandurah’s Western Foreshore is one of those Playgrounds that really lives up to the “epic” label. Set right on the estuary at Hall Park in Halls Head, this destination play space is part of the Mandurah Waterfront redevelopment and sits beside the popular Mandurah Skate Park. Its Noongar name is pronounced “kool-lung-ga waa-bin” and beautifully translates to “children playing”, while also referencing the local Swamp Sheoak trees that inspired the Playground’s design. Wow, wow, wow! Shipwreck Cove park in Golden Bay, has totally nailed it! What a fantastic family space and visually it looks stunning! A beautiful green parkland along Golden Bay foreshore, right next to the Indian Ocean. The shipwreck themed park has a playground including a separate fenced area for toddlers, a cool pump track, a cycle and scooter circuit, BBQs, shaded picnic tables, toilets, showers, lots of parking, a stunning new lookout point and beach access. Vista Play park is situated along the Mandurah road in the new Vista Estate Singleton, just 20 mins south of Rockingham and 10 mins from Mandurah. It is the perfect location for a nature play date, morning tea or an after school run around.
