Just 45 minutes north of Perth, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Yanchep National Park, lies a cosy spot that’s recently become even more family-friendly—The Yanchep Inn.

While it’s long been known for its hearty meals and charming heritage setting, it’s now got something special for little adventurers too: a brand-new nature-inspired PlayZone.

Although minimal in structure, the upgrade embraces the “less is more” philosophy. The centrepiece is the beautifully crafted Yanchep Inn Express—a wooden train with interactive features like a steering wheel, buttons, a walkie-talkie, and cosy wagon seating. There’s just enough space for kids to climb, crawl, and create their own adventures. It’s simple, open-ended, and sparks imagination in the best way.

Our little one was thrilled with the space—and even more thrilled with the mini beef slider and chips. Every bite was eaten (a miracle for our mostly fussy eater!), and the babyccino was the cherry on top. Parents will also love that the play area is tucked into its own corner—separate from the main seating—which means you can relax while the kids play freely.

Beyond the play zone, nature truly takes centre stage. Kids can balance on logs, walk low walls, and spot kangaroos, swamp hens, black cockatoos, and more. Birds serenade diners as they relax in the beer garden, and a stroll through the Koala Boardwalk or around the lake completes the perfect family outing.

With ample parking and meals served seven days a week, the Yanchep Inn is a gem for family day trips. Annual National Park passes make it easy to return often—and with more play zone additions on the horizon, we’re excited to see what’s next.

Simple, scenic, and built with love — Yanchep Inn is a nature-rich escape that lets kids be kids.
