If you happen to be in the timber town of Pemberton, be sure to drop by Wild at Heart Cafe for a bite to eat. The lovely local haunt, found on the main high street, does a very tasty brunch and lunch.
The large café has plenty of dining space, in its welcoming and modern interior. There is a tasty range of local gourmet goods on offer to take away in a small deli section too.
There’s a surprisingly trendy menu offering, and the food quality is up there with some of Perth’s most popular cafes. The coffee is top notch.
I loved the flavorsome pork belly tacos, with slaw, kewpie mayo and a herby chimmichurri. “Manjimup chips”, made from local spuds, are on the side.
Little Chef chose a generous portion of mac n cheese from the kids menu.
There’s a good range of kids dishes, all with a home made feel. High chairs are available for little ones.
There’s a playground right across the road too, making it a handy spot for a take away coffee and fresh snack from the cabinet. The tourist information center is also nearby.
If you’re in the sleepy town discovering the Gloucester National Park and its other attractions, be sure to take a detour to Wild at Heart Café.
